i don't understand "point proved." i'm asking you because there was a congressman from washington who made a statement to that effect....
Well, I don't know which is worse. Watching Paris Hilton instead of the President's interview, or watching the Rockets get creamed by the TWolves instead of the President's interview like I did...
Maybe because Bush didn't capture Saddam, the troops did. Not trying to take away from the importance of the event, but him giving an interview like he's in the field analyzing intelligence didn't sit well with me.
I was thinking you were asking if I really believed that they did that with Saddam based on my proclamation that I wouldn't be surprised if they did that with OBL, even though I stated I don't think they would. You asking that would've proven my point about misreading my words, just like Novak did with Dean.
Wow- You guys are really flustered that his poll #'s went up. Rocket Man Tex is about the only liberal I saw treat it rationally. I think I'll book mark this thread for when a democrat does good in the polls and you guys all cheer and then I can be like...look polls don't matter according to you guys remember? Politics is politics.
I read an interesting article from MSNBC http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3742768/ These are the two statements that really stand out to me at least. "In his speech on Monday, Dean said, “I have never found the evidence convincing that Iraq was ever a significant threat to the United States.” yet now he seems to support the invasion had the U.N. given permission??? "One of Dean’s rivals, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, has criticized a statement Dean made on Monday in which he said he “would not have hesitated” to launch an attack on Iraq this year “had the United Nations given us permission and asked us to be part of a multilateral force.”
I agree. I think like I said it's snapshot in time. It doesn't mean the polls won't change, but for right now, they are what they are. I think it's only normal win our military accomplishes a goal, that the commander in chief's poll numbers would go up. It's just like when we weren't accomplishing it and we lose lives, the numbers went down.
Yes those statements stand out to me too. It's refreshing to see someone finally recognize that Saddam signed a agreements with the UN, and therefore it us up to the UN to decide what will be done and when in regards to those agreements. Good job, Howard.
not sure it's worth arguing...but at the time i was writing my first post here, you had not yet said that you didn't think they would. my question to you was 1 minute after your post where you first said that, and i didn't see it before i posed that question to you...i was really responding to your first post which said this administration is entirely political (as if others weren't) and how you wouldn't put it past them.
