Yes I would have. too bad this scenerio has yet to occur even after mission was accomplished. Or maybe I'm just reading the wrong news.
Also, I didn't support the war initially the way it was planned. Too few troops. Afghanistan yes, Iraq no.
City girls just seem to find out early How to open doors with just a smile A rich old man And she won't have to worry She'll dress up all in lace and go in style Late at night a big old house gets lonely I guess ev'ry form of refuge has its price And it breaks her heart to think her love is Only given to a man with hands as cold as ice So she tells him she must go out for the evening To comfort an old friend who's feelin' down But he knows where she's goin' as she's leavin' She is headed for the cheatin' side of town You can't hide your lyin' eyes And your smile is a thin disguise I thought by now you'd realize There ain't no way to hide your lyin eyes On the other side of town a boy is waiting with fiery eyes and dreams no one could steal She drives on through the nice anticipating 'Cause he makes her feel the way she used to feel She rushes to his arms, They fall together She whispers that it's only for awhile She swears that soon she'll be comin' back forever She pulls away and leaves him with a smile You can't hide your lyin' eyes And your smile is a thin disguise I thought by now you'd realize There ain't no way to hide you lyin' eyes She gets up and pours herself a strong one And stares out at the stars up in the sky Another night, it's gonna be a long one She draws the shade and hangs her head to cry She wonders how it ever got this crazy She thinks about a boy she knew in school Did she get tired or did she just get lazy? She's so far gone she feels just like a fool My, oh my, you sure know how to arrange things You set it up so well, so carefully Ain't it funny how your new life didn't change things You're still the same old girl you used to be You can't hide your lyin eyes And your smile is a thin disguise I thought by now you'd realize There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes Honey, you can't hide your lyin' eyes
And to think that the Rockets are located in Bush's home state. Isn't Texas the grand daddy of Red States? Gun lovin, homo hating, anti abortion, God fearin, pickup driving, flag wavin and members of the Republican base?
I asked about this board's political orientation a few months back. I recall some people said Texas in general is conservative but is more liberal in the big cities. True?
I think what we're seeing from this thread and the continuing ongoing debate is just how murky the intelligence was regarding Iraq. That is why I choose option C because while I don't think it was an outright lie I think it was more matter of failing to look at the intel critically and instead believing the worst case scenario. So its not a lie in the sense of a deliberate falsehood since I think that the Admin believed the intel on WMD and downplayed intel that contradicted that. Since many have brought this up that Congress had the same intel as the President had, which I'm not sure that they did, but presuming they did this still doesn't change the fact that the WMD argument for going into Iraq was wrong and that both Congress and the President were wrong. I think this goes back to that the intel was murky but the Admin were convinced they had a solid case, put together a winning political strategy for that case and that Congress out of either political cowardice or out of honest belief in the threat agreed with it. That Congress agreed though doesn't change at all whether the President lied or not. The Congressmen and women that voted for the war might've been lying too.
That's mean guys. I think he's trying his best to have a discussion with us. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Once again, the PDB does not support this conclusion. the president's daily briefings suggested a greater threat than the NIE. it was murky, it was more decisive. the 9/11 commission report detailed some of the evidence of iraqi-al queda contacts, details that prompted Richard Clarke's fear the Osama would "boogie off to Bahgdad" if the US invaded afghanistan:
First, were these corroborated by more than one independent intelligent source? Second, we've seen plenty of examples where the truthfulness of intelligence and trustworthiness source are questionable at best, deceitful at worst. If this comes from, say Chalabi, I'd think more than twice about its usefulness. Or may even attempt to make opposite conclusion out of it. Third, even if they did meet, do we know what they were discussing? Are you just gonna assume?
I think so. (in general) Honestly, I didn't think Bush had a chance with the reelection. Liberals were more outspoken. In the last couple years, voting has been much more conservative than what the media poses.
Like my wife's friend who came over after the election and goes, "Bush sucks". I asked if she voted for Kerry and she said, "No, I didn't vote." I told her to shut the f*** up then because if she was too lazy to vote, then she had no business complaining about who was in the White House.
