I don't think they will say crap really. I mean, where's the story in that? (from ESPN's point of view) I too though, would LOVE to see lundy run for more yards.
The Bush Groupies and The Bush Haters (unfortunate name, that): both of you are being equally ridiculous. I just wonder which one of you will get laughed at the most in a few months.
Personally, I still don't see the point. I'm a Texans fan way before I'm a Bush fan. I'm not rooting for the Saints because he's there now. I hope Williams turns out to be #1 pick worthy, as well as Lundy or Morency (whoever endsup wit the most carries) ends up having an outstanding year. My issue is that I don't see why Bush's name keeps getting bought up. It's the "Bush haters" as you put it that keep putting him in posts. It's not the other way around. If Williams doesn't pan out I will be voicing my displeasure towards the Texans organization for making yet another terrible move. If Bush is doing great I'm not going to be rubbing it in to other posters. I'm sure as Texans fans they will be just as pissed as me. The honest truth is that the major debate between everyone leading up to the draft was over Bush and Young. Nobody really even cared or spoke about Mario then. It was only until after the draft people started jusifying the pick to themselves. It's going to be a wait and see type thing. Hopefully, Mario has 3 sacks today because that's what's best for the team. The more people bring up Reggie the more his fans will support him.
I hope this isn't going to be par for the course all year long. Both of you camps are going to have to own up just as much as celebrate. Give credit where credit is due. Bush was effective. It's not like he has a Super Bowl contender around him, either. At the same time, we were facing a very good Eagles team. It's not yet time to consider our running game a bust. (Though I'm worried)
ROFL! Pwned by research. Not only that, they were 32nd (i.e dead last) in the league the year before that. (Consistent bunch, aren't they?)
Wow. Was it that funny? He pulled a stat from LAST season. I watched the game, the announcers made comments that Cleveland has improved their defense from last season thru free agency and the draft. Bottom line, you guys are the ones who were pwned this weekend, not me lol. I know both of you are big time longhorn fans and big time Reggie Bush haters. Rough weekend for you guys, I guess it can only get better, good luck the rest of the way.
You really beleive everything the announcers say? They also say the Texans have a much improved defense and we saw how that worked today.
Can I file this in the "Who gives a crap" folder...C'mon, I admit, I still think about having Bush, but no hard feelings, please...Although the saints did we and we lost... Coincidence...
Wrong. I don't hate Reggie Bush (although I do feel the hype machine is out of control). In fact, I think both Bush and Mario will be good players. What I hate are people like you who feel the need to prop one player up in order to put down the other. And that goes for both sides, too.
I don't hate Bush either. I just dislike the assumption that he's an instant Hall of Famer before he's even taken a step on an NFL field. Let's let him play a few games - heck, let's let him get more than 61 yards against a defense that isn't one of the worst in the league against the run - before we declare him as the second coming of Barry Sanders. I enjoy watching Reggie Bush play and I honestly like the Saints as a franchise. All I'm saying is wait for some games to be played before you make everything an open and shut case.
I disagree, a fair amount of people mentioned trading down to take Williams or Ferguson. Speaking of Ferguson, he is totally lost in the shuffle as far as the top rookies, but I watched the jets yesterday and he did a very good job, save for 1 costly penalty.
To put the "Reggie Bush is not an every down back argument to rest" 6. OK, Houston here's what you missed. Reggie Bush participated in 33 of the Saints' snaps, or about one half. On 24 of them he lined up at tailback, with 13 carries and one reception; on nine of them he was spread wide, with one carry and three catches. Oh, yeah, he also returned three punts for 22 yards. Bush finished with 61 yards rushing; Houston's backs finished with 45. Houston, now you know why you have a problem. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9651652
