i think we're making a huge mountain out of a molehill on this misstatement.

The question is whether he meant what he said. Did he after he spoke say to himself "whoops"? Or did his staff have to be the one to break the news to him?

He certainly could have misremembered the entire affair.

Bush misspeaks so often, one has to wonder.

He's obviously not gifted with language skills; and he hires lots of folks who have a long history of trouble with telling the truth, see Colin Powell, Dick Cheney for some prime examples. He could be just as stupid as Ronald Reagan and the other guys are puppet masters.

Holy Cow!!!! I went last night and read the transcript and watched the video of Bush's quote that they didn't let inspectors in. I went to Whitehouse.gov, and clicked on the link about Bush's speech to Liberia. It was there on video and in the black and white transcript.

Well the other links from yesterday are still there but that one is now removed from the frontpage of the website.

Ok I found it. It wasn't removed entirely... just moved off the front page and listed slightly differently in the archives.

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/07/20030714-3.html

I have no idea if this will change anyone's interpretation of it or not.

I just want to say he may have misspoke. But how many misspeak excuses does he get? There was the report from the IAEA that never existed, though he claimed to possess it. There was him in Poland claiming that the U.S. had found WMD in Iraq, now there is this. At what point does it stop being misspeak, but is actual dishonesty, or at best whishful thinking?

Just a few facts about welfare not being an incentive to work.

The largest recipients of welfare are the elderly. The largest expense of welfare is medical(This is one reason why healthy care needs to be dealt with so that welfare reform is more meaningful). With recent welfare reforms there are already provisions with incentives for those that are able to work.

Single mothers, and all the other stereo types you hear about being such a drain on welfare need to get their facts straight.

Are you saying that welfare doesn't dissuade grannies from getting out there and making a buck or two? Why don't you admit it? You want to steal my money... and give it to some lowlife that sits around drooling while she plays bingo all day!
