What are you talking about? For the third time in one thread. Here are the FACTS. After the Cole bombing, Clinton wanted to take the fight to Al-Qaeda. He ordered Richard Clarke to devise a plan to do so. Clarke had the plan completed around the time Clinton left office. Clarke then tried repeatedly to get the Bush administration to put the plan into action. Needless to say they never did until after 9/11. After 9/11 the Bush administration put almost every step of Clarke's plan(The one Clinton ordered) into action. Bush enacted the Clinton era ideas to go after terrorist funding, to work with other nations in an effort to keep track of terrorists, to target Al-Qaeda training camps and headquarters... The list goes on and on. Name a Bush policy on terrorism enacted after 9/11, and the odds are that it Clarke, under orders from CLINTON came up with it. And it was done so in response to the Cole bombing, and during the Clinton administration. Bamma, It seems to me like you make up your mind what happened and what didn't, and then ignore any facts that contradict what you've decided is the truth. It may make you feel good, but it isn't reality. Scroll up, look at the initial thread where I posted a list of all the things Clinton did to fight terror pre-9/11. Understand that many of the steps taken by this administration were devised by the Clinton administration.
All of that you cited was Clinton spin. He didn't give a whit about terrorism, except as a way to duck out of legal proceedings. Clarke did nothing of the sort and has already been discredited as a liar. Thanks for playing.
Clinton Spin? Look at the budgets Clinton proposed. Is increasing anti-terrorism budget just a spin? If it was Clinton Spin why did I include quotes from Paul Bremmer, and Oakfield. Both of these guys are Republicans who served in Republican administrations. Actually Clarked did indeed come up with that plan, it was documented. Clarke has never been discredited as a liar. They had something from a pre-interview with Clarke, but that wasn't a lie. Furthermore, it certainly wasn't a lie in regards to the plans he formulated in response to the Cole bombing. If we are going to not allow any commentary from anyone who has lied, then anything Bush, Condi Rice, Rumsfeld, or Cheney say doesn't count. That may be the best way for you to bow out of this discussion though, and it's fine if you want to. The facts on this are plain as day.
On the morning of 911, the justice department was more worried about p*rnography than homeland terrorism. On the morning of 911, the DoD highest priority was long range missle defense. Both of these were policy decisions made by GWB's Admin. GWB's priority never was on terrorism. He dropped the ball. He needs to take some of the blame, which iirc he publicly has. I guess you weren't listening.
I find the following information from the first post extremely disturbing. It's difficult to believe, but unfortunately, i've tested some of my friends and it seems to hold. One of them even said "we'd be speaking arabic (not exact words) right now if it weren't for our troops in iraq" Apparently, most of us would perfer others to think for us. Thank god for representive democracy eh? 69 Percentage of Americans who believed the White House's claims in September 2003 that Saddam Hussein was personally involved in the 11 September attacks. 34 Percentage of Americans who believed in June 2003 that Saddam's "weapons of mass destruction" had been found. 22 Percentage of Americans who believed in May 2003 that Saddam had used his WMDs on US forces. 85 Percentage of American young adults who cannot find Afghanistan, Iraq, or Israel on a map. 30 Percentage of American young adults who cannot find the Pacific Ocean on a map. 75 Percentage of American young adults who don't know the population of the United States. 53 Percentage of Canadian young adults who don't know the population of the United States. 11 Percentage of American young adults who cannot find the United States on a map. 30 Percentage of Americans who believe that "politics and government are too complicated to understand."
Now I was to talk about [/i]Skull and Bones[/i]. Truely Born Again Christians do not have any business belonging to any secret society unless you are the anti-Christ. QED. Christianity and Jehova is enough for me and my family. Thank you. So why would a so called BA Christian belong to one? You tell me. Kerry belongs to one as well but I do not know how to classify his case. Oh well I guess we have to wait for the day of the Lord God Almighty - His day of judgement when all our works will be test with fire. Just out of curiousity, how many of you out there (especially the Christians amongst you) belong to a secret society?
i'm in one. but it pretty much just involves me eating lots of coney dogs and watching lots of sports on my couch. shhhh. don't tell. also...you're assuming this guy was a Christian when he was in college. I think Bush would tell you that he was not.
I'm in the Hip Sing Chinese Beneficiary_Association of San Francisco .... just kidding.. don't quote me on that.
Masons are a secret society and iirc the majority of our president have been Masons. North American Mason are segregated so the last few president were likely not Masons.
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down? We do! We do! Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the martians under wraps? We do! We do! Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star? We do! We do! Who robs the cave fish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscars night? We do! We do!
...secret society? I have no idea what you're talking about. So no, no I don't belong to any of these so-called "secret societies" of which you speak. Never heard of 'em in fact.
