Why? Well, we may feel better about Bynum re-signing here and can give up significantly fewer assets to get him. Don't get me wrong, I think I'd prefer a straight-up Howard deal... but Bynum's a good enough player that it's at least worth considering the option.
In this post he claims to be a part time writer for the NBA: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4703447&postcount=34
It's up to Orlando. They may prefer the package a 3-team trade gives them. They might also want to try to send Howard where he wants.
hey yo cyberx, how often did you use to write? For which publication? How did you go about working for an agent now...?
To me, he seems like a mouthpiece for the agents. To imply that the Magic should be AFRAID to deal Howard here because they wouldn't want to feel the wrath of the agents in the future seems a bit one-sided. Fegan's camp is obviously going to scream and stomp their feet until they are blue in the face, but ultimately, Hennigan is going to do what's best for his organization.
I also find it strange that someone who works for an agent, and isn't an agent, has conversations with two GMs. I smell BS
Well, I'm sure he doesn't DIRECTLY get messages (or maybe he does), but I'm assuming one of his direct superiors does and passes along the news.
For what it's worth, there's a veteran poster on LakersGround singing a very similar tune to CyberX. Supposedly there's a meeting today with a mystery player (Ebanks) to clarify his future with the Lakers. http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=147732&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=44600 May not be anything to it, but since this is basically a rumor thread, might as well.
or hey maybe it's steve blake since I've heard his name thrown around on this thread. I bet steve blake can throw down
What's hilarious is that even Lakers fans are tired of Dwight's antics. Believe it or not, they seem to be upset that the Lakers were SECOND on his list after Brooklyn. Haha. This whole thing is just an absolute nightmare. I'm really not sure how Fegan allowed this to happen, but he has basically allowed Dwight (and by association, himself) to look like complete buffoons and self-entitled douche crybabies. I still want him on the Rockets, if for nothing else other than to watch him squirm out of this predicament he's forced himself into.
Bill Ingram is a part time NBA writer who primarily works for agents as their mouth piece. You can do both at the same time.
convoluted and unnecessary distinction The bird rights never *truly* expire unless the player clears waivers or signs as a FA. One might say that they become a moot point once past the deadline of the last year of one's contract, but they are still there in case a new contract is written with the original team AND they would still transfer if a SnT was done, tho you correctly point out that it wouldn't be for 5 yrs.
