No team wants a high maintenance player once their skills are noticeably declining. This is what a guy like Tracy can't figure out. It's not just accepting fewer minutes and fewer touches, it's also accepting a lower team profile, and Tracy isn't going to give up the drama. He's addicted to it.

If McGrady is as willing to take a bench role as Bogans is he would have been signed a long time ago. The reason that Tracy is probably out of NBA for good is because he simply can not accpet his new role as a role player.

agreed. houston would just be left out of the deal. azubuike and chandler for fernandez makes sense and doesn't require the knicks taking on jeffries again.

Bulls still have a change to get Fernandez. They have some cap room and only 12 player under contract.

t-mac can't be a role player with his skillset. he's not a spot up shooter, slasher, defensive stopper, he's not anything.

the only thing he can do remotely well is stand in one place and pass the ball. unfortunately that's not a "role" in the nba, but some people confuse this with playmaking.

What was Van Gundy's response to that? I remember he replied with a smart ass, yet funny comment.

They still have roster spots and capspace and trade pieces to get Fernandez.
