    Deng +
    Thomas or Noah
    Wallace

It's tough taking on Ben Wallace and his albatross of a contract is in these deals but he should be much more productive at the 4 opposite Yao.(giving us the defense we need at that spot) Scola/Wallace could hold down the PF spot with no problem.I just don't see any way around having to take him if it's just 2 teams.

    Deng
    Wallace
    1st rounder

I like Kirk but we are set at PG....and as far as Nocioni goes,I'd rather have more athleticism.

I love Ben Gordon's game and would welcome him with open arms if the deal was right but we need more size out of our 2.

In fact it might very well take 3 teams to get one done here at all.

    Hmmm.

Kirk and Nocioni are both BYC guys (trade numbers: 5.5, 4.25), and Tracy represents $19 million (return must be btwn $15 and $24). The BYC angle makes it even more interesting, because we'd automatically be taking in a heavier cap burden because of it. Tack on Ben Wallace and his cap-killer salary numbers, and we've got serious luxury tax issues. I really like Nocioni, but I doubt Les would be okay signing off on a trade that worsens our cap number that significantly.

Makes doing this deal almost impossible until summer, the more I look at it.

At ten times the salary, plus a sulky/quitter attitude that's been a regular occurrence for 3 years? Chuck doesn't cut his effort down to protest not getting scoring plays called for him. If you've watched him play in the last 3 years, I don't see how anyone could think that Wallace currently plays with the determination and hustle that Hayes does.

    Boardwork:
Wallace Rebounds Per 40 min: 10.9 (13.5 career)
Hayes Rebounds Per 40 min: 11.3 (12.2 career)

    Ability to convert point-blank layups:
    Wallace: 32.9% FG
    Hayes: 56.6% FG

As a defender, Wallace is only good as a weak side blocker and interior rebounder. Even at his peak, he tended to be exposed as a one-on-one defender. His strength helps him push guys off the block and out of position, but he has poor lateral quickness and is eaten up by any forward or center able to execute a spin. Hayes is no shut down guy, but he is able to chase most assignments around.

Salary difference per year: $14 million.

Any trade involving Deng or Gordon would also have to figure in signing them to a contract extension since this is the last year of their contracts. I have read that they are both looking for more money than the Bulls wanted to pay which is why the Bulls have not resigned them yet. I certainly wouldn't pay Gordon top dollar. Even Deng I would not want to pay any where near max level money at this point.

I think the Bulls would consider trading Deng though. It was reported that Deng actually was available for trade for Kobe, but Kobe didn't want to go to the Bulls if Deng wasn't going to be there. Without discussing exact terms of the deal it is impossible to say for sure if it is a good idea or not. Personally any deal with the Bulls not including Deng would be disappointing though.

How convenient of the reporter to leave out the whole quote from Yao to stir up S*it.

"The team has more confidence playing without T-Mac right now," Yao said. "That doesn't mean we don't need him. You have to face those games when you don't have him. When you miss him, you still have to play. We're finding a way to play without him right now."

    Ya don't say.

You mean just because someone printed that T-Mac was unhappy, that doesn't mean that he was??

I agree any deal involving Kirk and Noci won't happen this season. For it to work Rockets would be taking on around 10+ million or so when LT is figured into it.

Though trading for only one of the BYC players could work in that the salaries could be somewhat even give or take a million.

Deng, Hinrich, Smith, Noah, Khryapa (expiring), Curry (expiring/team option)
    for
McGrady, Hayes, Snyder, Novak, Landry (traded via min salary exception)
    *Waive Curry (min rookie salary)

    Bulls:
    Gordon, Duhon,
    McGrady, Thabo, Snyder
    Nocioni, Griffin, Nichols
    Hayes, Thomas, Landry, Novak
    Wallace, Gray,

    Rockets:
    Hinrich, Alston, Brooks
    Deng, Head, James, Francis
    Battier, Wells
    Smith, Scola, Khryapa
    Yao, Noah, Deke
