O.K. there is nothing international about San Antonio and most of the spanish spoken in SA is terrible. When you have immigrants from a neighboring country that is not considered international. Also, Splitter's native tongue is Portuguese. Miami having Venezuelan's, Colombian's, Haitians...etc is international as is Houston. He might go to SA but it is because of the team and the management.
They could offer him their full MLE. So he gets more money down the road when he doesn't have much left.
I almost want to see Gasol in SA just to see how Pops manages him. Managed minutes, mixed line ups... I think we could see short stints of Vintage Gasol in the play offs. And probably extend his career by years at the same time. Still, it's going to be insanely hard to beat the Spurs if they add Gasol for MLE type money. I already consider them the favorites to come out of the West and the favorites for a championship if they make it to the Finals. Add Gasol and the Spurs are one really, really scary team.
Basketballholic why didn't you tell us about the Bulls and Thunders interest in Gasol. You stated your source told you it was a guarantee the Grizzlies would land him. I don't see anyone else making this claim sir.

[rQUOTEr] That would intensify the Bulls' pursuit of Gasol, and league sources indicated the Bulls hope to pursue sign-and-trade options with the Lakers for him involving Carlos Boozer's expiring salary. The window to use the amnesty provision on Boozer's salary officially opened at 11:01 p.m. Wednesday. But the Bulls all along have been trying to trade him, not only to relieve themselves of their financial commitment to him but more to stay above the salary cap. This would allow them to use exceptions to sign other players. Nikola Mirotic, Trevor Ariza, Shawn Marion, Kirk Hinrich and Ramon Sessions are just some of the possibilities. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...ames-nba-free-agency-20140709,0,4109010.story[/rQUOTEr] Front-runner for Carmelo, front-runner for this guy, front-runner for that guy...these cats were never gonna amensty Boozer.
