There is no reason why the rockets would even trade with the cavs. Also, there is no reason why we would want to get rid of McGrady's contract. Unless the trade brings us a long term solution.. His expiring deal is worth alot more to this team. Its the same thing i said about the "joe johnson" thread that was up... rockets do NOT want a good player, with good stats. they want a GREAT player who wins championships. They believed they had that in T mac.. why would they think that of a player as Joe Johnson?. It's why they didint go after Carter last year. His contract is worth keeping him around this year. All players on the cavs outside Lebrain.. is not needed here. espacially with chase playing like he has.. there is no need for a trade unless Amare come here, and signs an extension.
If Chicago REALLY wants to go after Lebron (or Wade or Bosh, etc...), they would probably make a better offer for McGrady than that...
Even though I don't like Mcgrady that deal is garbage, Big Z wouldn't fit in this system. But anyways i couldn't believe how highly Jerry Sloan was talking about the rockets "They play bigger than what they are," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said admiringly after losing to the Rockets. "They are a tough team. They push the ball on you a lot. They take three-point shots. They are capable of scoring a lot of points and put a premium of your ability to change ends. They are just hard-working guys. If you don't respect that, you don't respect basketball." Thats how we do it baby, come on rockets lets keep this going...... Oh yeah but this deal would be GARBAGE!!!!!
You can 3-way Z for a slightly better player/situation like Biedrens I would think. Possibly Camby if you lose a pick.
No way we are trading T-mac unless we get a pretty big piece in return. We have to turn his salary into what will be our best or second best player, whether it be through trade or in free agency.
Very unlikely. This deal needs significant filler from Cavs to make the salary match. We don't want lengthy contract involved. The best option is to hold what we have and let it expiring or to get similar expiring contract back. This will give us great flexibility for next season. If we could do fine this season, everyone will be happy. If not so well this season, we are getting young players grown for the future.
This looks more like wishful thinking, someone wanting the Cavs to become better and hey....lets blow up the Rockets to get it done! I think if we do trade TMangina it will be for a few players that have all of us fans scratching our heads, wondering why we got THOSE players....but it will take about a month before we realize that Morey is a fricken genius!
BINGO...I can see this playing out and a super team ball philosphy instead of a stars lead the team mentality.
Z and Tmac are both expiring though. If you treat this season as a "rebuilding one" ie. no chance to make a playoff run, rather than let tmac expire, might as well trade him for other expirings + prospects/picks.
HELL NO. I rather take the Kevin Martin deal. Makes no sense for Houston. I know we lack size but I Big Z will slow us down more than T-Mac with bad knee.
Jamario Moon(29 yrs old) and Anthony Parker(34 yrs) are not what I would call prospects. As for Daniel Gibson, he is young, but Brooks and Lowry own him.
The thing about this is....say a deal like that does happen. We end up with ridiculous depth, a great rotation that oppositions hate playing even more.... Where does Yao fit into all of this? If we end up with a very good team that is winning games, and we're looking to an older, slow Yao coming back and not fitting in, do we trade him too? Maybe not now but when he comes back.... Its all very interesting, but I have to say, after being completely disappointed this off season by the seeming lack of moves, then seeing we have this horrible team that no one likes playing against, thats winning games, showing heart and looks like the type of side no one wants making the playoffs....I have complete faith that Morey is in fact the smartest man in the NBA.
Hmm... So when and if Tracy comes back he isnt going to fit in the offense and it is going to slow us down... but... trading for Big Z is going to allow us to keep it up as "one of the fastest, most entertaining, and tough teams" as Smith put it? Yes I understand they'll both slow us down in different way as they are playing 2 different positions but I'm not buying that. Sorry, no thanks. I'll stick with the undersized hustler Chuck Hayes and hold out for something more for McGrady.

Have you been watching the games? I don't think the Rockets have any plans of rebuilding. Maybe tweaking here and there but not rebuilding.
