I was thinking that the teams in the top 5 automatically, regardless of record, are disqualified from having a top 5 pick in the next draft unless they trade for it. The best pick someone in the top 5 could have would be the sixth pick. Or they are removed from the lottery and given the 4th (on up) pick according to how they were placed at the end of the season if they selected in the top three the year before.
the bulls will never beat the rockets in 7 seven years atleast(i wouldnt hold my breath gettinbranded, didnt he get traded?) ming>tyson griffin>curry cuttino>rose steve>williams nachbar>robinson rudy>bulls coach(a new one every year)
odom, give me a break. I know we're all homers here and I think the Rockets will be better than da Bulls and a lot quicker, your post is really stupid. A new coach every year for the bulls? Sure, Floyd quit this year, but its not like they've had a ton of coaches in the past decade... And Nachbar has a little bit to prove before he's better than Robinson...And Jalen Rose is a fine player, too. Francis has proven himself in the league as an all star...but its not like you can say Ming is better than Curry or vice versa, neither has proven much in the league yet...So put a little more time into thinking out your posts, big man...
GB,Krause is a good scout with a eye for talent,it takes guts to pull a trade like giving up Brand for Chandler and adding Curry, but I think he was a bit lucky in getting Rose, because Indiana gave him up for backups like Miller and Artest. Chicago was unlikely not to get McGrady in free agency but they lucked out when Tim Thomas and Eddie Jones chose not to join the Bulls.
I cant win either way. If i stated, ming <tyson ,then numerous rocket fans would flame me Im assuming my view has the support of 9 out of 10 rocket fans.Oh,and krouse wanted ming.Enough to trade jwill and fizer for, even though he has curry and chandler. He must agree with me that ming>tyson. I admit nacbar and robionson is a stretch, but if nachabr = peja, then nachabr > robinson(thats if robinson ever gets off the pine, lol)
I love what the Bulls have done. Chandler is going to be a beast, and I truly believe that Krause will look like a genius for trading Brand in 3 or 4 years. If Curry turns out to be an effective center, then I could see the Bulls contending again soon.
The Bulls have seemed very content to land Williams and keep the rest of the core intact. I doubt if Krause wanted Ming bad enough to use Marcus Fizer as a throw-in.

I think what helps the Bulls is the fact that Jalen Rose has shown to be a guy capable of carrying a team. He's a franchise player, crazy enough. That's something they haven't had since Jordan. If Jay Williams comes along well, and the young big men come along they will be a factor. But the comment that the East won't have a championship contender until the Bulls mature is silly. Give Boston a few quality big men and they're a contender. Give New Jersey toughness they could win a championship. Give Philadelphia an extra scorer or two and they're a contender. Give Detroit some more scorer and they're a contender. The Bulls could be a playoff team in a year or two, but the East still have plenty of championship contenders. Also I think the Rockets is the teams less likely to be broken up. Francis is obviously the star, and Mobley will stay, and Houston loves Ming and plan to build around him, and Griffin will be a corner stone. The Bulls problem is whether or not they can keep Rose there when his contract runs out.
You can't even give me a full word? I make an extremely acute comment -- easily the most intelligent in the whole thread -- but you're concerned with a biographical side-note? If you're wondering, it is because I lived in Chicago for 7 years during the Rockets championship years and then the high-Jordan period and -- worse yet -- the post-partum Jordan years. Chicago has the most ego-centric, delusional fans on the planet. This natural tendency of the town was whipped into a frenzy by the Jordan phenomenon to such an extent that it was not possible to have a reasonable conversation with a sports-lover there. Moreover, this frenzy had taken on quasi-religious tones to the point where I worried for the salvation of fans' souls. And, this tendency was not only among the afficianados of the sport -- it pierced every level of society. You saw it on billboards and on buildings, in the paper, in daily conversation, in the economy, the weather, fashion, cuisine -- everything. I had to move from the city to escape it. So, let's just say that, like an allergic reaction, my body has taken on more of the Bulls than it can handle.
Bold prediction: The Bulls make the playoffs this year, even being as high as possibly a 6th seed. But for this to happen: 1. Chandler & Curry obviously have to continue to improve & stay healthy. If they're both averaging double-doubles (not entirely out of the question) & among the league leaders in blocks or rebounds (or both), Chicago is playoff-bound. 2. Williams has to play up to his enormous potential. I think it's safe to say that, barring injury, this is pretty much a given. 3. The Bulls have to solidify the 2 or 3. Its a given that Rose can play either position, but they need to round out the lineup. 4. If Fizer or Robinson aren't traded (I think Crawford will be the eventual starter at SG), they have to team with players like Hassell to give the Bulls consistency from the bench. Fizer had a good year last year, he has to continue to improve & give the Bulls an offensive spark off the bench. The Bulls also need to find a backup C, preferably a veteran.
ummm...about that number 2. In his rookie season? He hasn't even been given the starting PG role yet. He has to beat Jamal out for it.
Point taken, gb 2. Williams has to come in and give the Bulls that 2nd consistent perimeter scorer, which shouldn't be a problem given his enormous potential.
