That's why I said that's it's only natural that people have those tendencies. I agree with everything you said and you explained it very eloquently. If that's how you define racism, then you make excellent points. Most people do have those tendencies. However, there's also a big difference between identifying with Spanoulis (because he looks like me, he talks like me, he plays like me) and hating John Lucas.
I dont think Bull is directing this to Vspan, it's a good point though. however, when u have JL3 playing ahead of him IN trash time, it's a completely different story..

Maybe I'm too quick to pull the racism card, but the first thing I thought when I saw all the love for V-Mac and all the vitriolic garbage directed towards JL3 was that there was definitely a racial component to those feelings. Funny thing is, I was actually thinking of you as one of the exceptions to the mob of VSOF/JL3 haters. The thing is, neither of us can say for sure if we are right. It is all speculation. None of us know exactly why everybody likes V-Mac over JL3, and few of us even know the reasons we ourselves feel that way. All I know is this, and please try to follow me: people generally post on the BBS with a lot of emotion and little reasoning. In that context, I think it is very easy for latent racist tendancies to creep into the debate. Judging by the "quality" of the arguments on this particular issue, I think it is very likely that racism plays a big part in the V-Span/JL3 debate. You have a different idea. That's fine, but don't call me a "dunce" because you disagree.
Kind of a load of crap. I like Bullard, but that's nonsense. It implies that coaches are always right about playing time. Sometimes they're spectacularly wrong. Even if you think they're right the vast majority of the time, occasionally they screw up. Maybe it's because they don't see something. Maybe it's because of a personality conflict. Please explain why you think V-Span is the better option at backup over Head and Lucas. I'm tired of people claming something and then not even explain their opinion. To be fair, we have not seen enough of V-Span to say he is better than either of the two. Don't even try to bring up the game against Team USA. They've been lit up by guards before, not out of the ordinary. Everytime somebody brings up the Team USA performance, people fail to remember that was his best game in the whole tournament and his team ended up losing the final game to a Pau-less Spain team. Anyone care to post his stats in that game? Yeah, I didn't think so.
I have explained it over and over. Let me make it short and sweet. He's actually a point guard, he can actually run an offense, run the pick, set up plays, dish, make plays, etc. The other two cannot. I think Luther has the ability to possibly develop this game, but he just isn't that type of player. Lucas is a 3rd string PG at best, and he isn't even a PG, he's a SG. Spanoulis also has COURT VISION, who else has court vision other than Yao and T-Mac? Not to mention he's way better on defense than Alston, Head, or Lucas. The main problem with Span bashers and JVG is short sightedeness. Sure the coach needs to be strict, it's why I didn't like Rudy, and why Jeff is a better aoch than him, BUT this ridiculous short sighted idiocy that JVG does is nothing short of moronic. I think he's a hell of a coach overall, but his IQ is very questionable.

LOL, Exposed! Anyways, based on this season, I have not see anything from V-Span that says he knows how to run an offense. If he did, JVG would be taking notice. In the preseason where he played the most, he was horrible. He didn't show he could run an offense and he made bad decisions. He forces issues that are not there. I wouldn't say hes the better defender, because he picks up lots of fouls but I'll say he tries harder on defense than the other two.
