very true. the crowd would go off i'm sure. i think limited minutes is fine. 10-15min. if it's just stamina then no biggie.
I don't understand the not rushing argument. If he is cleared to practice, then he's everything that he would probably do in a game anyway, right? You think they practice walking through the motions or something? No, they practice hard. If he can survive practice, he can survive a few minutes off the bench.
We should not rush Yao back IMHO... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=125184&highlight=rush+back
No matter when Yao comes back if he hurts himself again, everyone will say he was rushed back. If Yao feels he is ready, and the docs feel he is ready then I say play him. It is the same with Tmac. he might have a flare up with his back everytime he plays, that doesnt mean you sit him out all the time to prevent it.
oh man this is like waking up one morning and someone telling you are getting an inheritance, well not really
To answer the original question, this is what I heard during the game: bill worrell said during denver game that he would not be surprised if Yao plays a little against SAspurs tomorrow night Then bullard said, that is a real possibility. If you were starving and I put a plate of your favorite food in front of you, but the condition was that you could not eat it for 68 days......and on the 69th day you ate away..........tell me how you would consider that RUSHING to eat so to speak.
Plus it's a home game. From a PR and game atmosphere perspective, I think this alone can propel the Rockets to a victory if the fans see Yao in his unis...even if he doesn't play much. It would only make this game even bigger than it already is.
It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about practice. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game last it's my last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that?
Nice one! I don't see a problem with him getting very limited mintues tonight. It will only help even if he doesn't have his best game. Maybe ten minutes or so just to get his conditioning up. Even JVG feels like he can play and he's usually pretty cautious. Then again I could just be selfish by wanting to see him play before I go on a three month deployment.
Yao needs to get in shape and his condition back in normal A.S.A.P. The playoffs are around the corner and theres a chance that we won't see the "Dominant Yao" that we saw earlier in the season. The best way to get him in shape and ready for the playoffs is to actually play him in games. That doesn't necessarily mean they have to play him 35-40mpg.
because your stomach may not adjust to the food so quickly causing you to use the restroom and stink up the joint.
