This thread is silly. Take personal battles outside. and about bullard, yes he is not that great of a player and is extremely one dimensional.

BUT at least he speaks his mind and is honest
and at least he is in the NBA playing for a respected franchise. until you guys make it to the NBA you dont have alot of room to argue. its easy to criticize when your not out there. when you play for the rockets and can play better tahn him then talk. he will never be a great player but he is in the NBA and that is what counts.

    TexSalsa,

You could say that about any criticism that ever occurred anywhere about any NBA player. Quit contributing to the "dumb and silly(now)" post and it will die! How are a couple of harsh words a "personal battle"? I don't know any of you. You certainly don't know me. Save your criticism of criticizers; this forum is full of them. Go talk about trades, injuries, or something "smarter".

Oh...I can't let this thread die now with all this tension, even BBS etiquette to the author and his right to get in the last word can't stop me,

as TheFreak so adroitly pointed out once, pointless threads are in my domain. I got a way to settle this tension and retain silliness:

Who can name the dumbest quote they ever heard from Ralph Sampson?

Mine is in an interview with Al McGuire (the man who dubbed Ralph a guaranteed franchise at age 18). In Ralph's Jr season at Virginia, Al asked him how he sees himself measuring up against the greatest centers of all time.

"I don't have a one-dimensional game like Wilt's power game or Kareems finesse hook shot. I can play all positions. I don't want to be known as a one-dimensional player. I'm ready to start facing the basket and leading the offense from outside."

--funny. Ralph never could understand that people don't now or never will view 7'ers who score 35ppg as one-dimensional.

For those who don't recall many Ralph quotes, stupid Shaq quotes will suffice. I repeat one I used earlier in this thread.

"Shaq is like a hypotenuse triangle. No one can figure out the hypotenuse triangle. You can print that."

Mango so what if he pouted, the organization sucks and he has a right to play on a winning organization, he will no doubt leave this off-season at least they would have gotten something in return for him. We don't know what happens behind closed doors, so you can't say he shouldn't have pouted or not. Mario Elie pouted after almost being traded but was he booed? No. Many, many, many players ask to be traded and when they don't, they pout. Look at Ken Griffy Jr, and Randy Johnson the last year he was with the Marriners, they both pouted in their last years on the team but didn't get booed. No player deserves to be put in the Clip joint with the current regime their. If they were committed to winning and he pouted then that would be something else but they could care less about winning, all they care about over there is the bottom line.

    Scarface,

If there are NBA teams with winning records, the corollary will be that there are NBA teams with losing records. If every player in the NBA would be allowed to play only for winning organizations, how could the losing teams fill out their rosters?

Yes, the Clippers are a very poorly run organization and have been for years. I have posted in other threads about that. For the team to be considered something more than a permanent doormat, considerable effort will be required. The players, coaches, front office and the ownership will all have to step up. There does seem to be an effort to improve the coaching by the hiring of KAJ to tutor the big men.Is this the start of a positive trend for the Clippers? Maybe.

M Taylor and his agent want the maximum possible when his current contract expires.
One report said that the reason the trade to the Knicks fell through is because Falk and NY couldn't agree on a new deal. If that report is true, then it wasn't the Clippers fault that Taylor is still in LA. Sentiment about Taylor is that he is above average offensively and below average in the rest of his game. He has stated that he won't do a sign and trade with the Clippers this summer.

I am unable to think of a "winning" organization that has the desire and the cap space available to sign an underachieving free agent PF that wants the maximum.

    Knicks.....no cap space
    Heat.......has PJ Brown
    Philly.....has T Ratliff
Indiana....old team that could switch to a rebuild mode this offseason. Rebuild means struggle for a while. Probably wouldn't be a winner for a few years.
    Charlotte..has D Coleman
    Toronto....has C Oakley
Milwaulkee.??...questionable if he would get along with George Karl, don't see him as an improvement over the bodies they already have. Probably wouldn't be able to work out cap wise either. Ray Allen, Cassell and G Robinson would still be getting most of the shots.

    SA.........has Duncan and Robinson
(if Duncan leaves can't see M Taylor being able to fill his shoes! Maybe Mario E could spark him up. Sure.)
Utah.......has Karl and they already have an underperforming big man in G Ostertag.
Minn.......depends on where you play Kevin. If Kevin is the 4 and Wally the 3, why do you need Taylor?
    Denver.....has A McDyess
Portland...no cap space available and already overloaded at the 4 spot.
Lakers.....It is against the CBA for another team to sign Taylor and then immediately trade him to the Lakers. http://www.members.home.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm (Question #63). Otherwise, no cap space.
Phoenix....they need blue-collar big men to rebound and play serious defense. Taylor does not fit that description.
Seattle....has V Baker (Payton barks about Baker being uninspired at times. If he ever played with M Taylor.........)
    Sac........has Webber

Money spent on payroll is not everything. The Dodgers spent millions and millions in 1999 and all they had to show for it was a mediocre record. Walt is making twice the money of SA when it should be the other way around.

The trade didn't go through because Vancouver was getting nothing in return. Mo Taylor will not sign for the maximum he will sign for decent money somewhere else, he wants out of the staple center anyway he can. Next to Atlanta, the city with the Angels have the worst fans throw in that he plays for the Clips and thats a double wammy. The clippers wanted to move him for something good in return, but no1 was willing to risk him leaving the next year for another team and they lose a good player for nothing. A LOT of teams would like to have him on their teams, which we will see this summer. The kid is not motivated anymore and why should he be, the Clip joint sucks. If you have ever played for a crappy team in an organized sport and you are honest you will admit that you don't play as hard as you could if you were a good team. Regardless of all that, he doesn't deserve to get booed by the hometown crowd.
