Two year ago this coming July, we were all looking sideways at Darryl Morey wondering if he knew WTF he was doing. AT BEST, we thought we would have Jeremy Lin as our "star" and were looking forward to watching a bunch of young guys (Royce White, Jeremy Lamb, Terrence Jones) try to fit in with Lin, Parsons and Asik. Flash forward to today. We already have James Harden, Dwight Howard and are in the mix to possibly get Lebron James or Carmelo Anthony. If someone would have told me in 2012 where we would be in 2014, I would have called them delusional or a complete homer. No matter how this turns out, its been a damn good 2 years to be a Rockets fan.
As much as I want to believe this article (or even deem it credible), I'm going to call the article BS. Do I believe the Rockets can land Lebron? Yes. Do I believe Morey and his staff can present an amazing proposal to Lebron? Yes. But no one knows where Lebron is going until Lebron decides/announces it (its not like the Heat were favorites to land him heading into FA four years ago). Besides, isn't Lebron supposed to be on vacation right now not even thinking about basketball?
James 28, Howard 28, Harden 25, Parsons 25, Beverley 24. Anyone else notice Troy Daniels played 50 games for the Vipers, taking 16 shots a game. 12.5 from 3. 40%. Sounds like grooming for a 3 point specialist. Cheap 3 point specialist. I don't understand why people can completely dismiss Houston. He's 28 now, reaching his prime. His 6'8", 265 pound body has seen a ton of minutes. Wade already aches. He needs to start saving himself for the playoffs, but how when Wade needs the same? Father time is ticking. He said multiple times he needs to do more to win. No he doesn't, he needs to be resting more. He can't find another player even close to duplicating what he does except Harden.
I agree. About time. Then losing to Portland when San Antonio would have been next was anti-climactic. Bev's injury didn't help, but it pointed out a huge lack of leadership. Howard and Harden don't seem to be floor leaders. Almost like McGrady. Sure no ever questioned the talent, but you'd rarely see him pull together a quick team huddle when the home team is making a run, offering criticism or praise. Where was Howa
We will get a very good player this coming season in return for Omer and Jeremy between now and the trade deadline. 100% trust in Morey. Get it done.
There is only one reason for LeBron to go to Houston: and that is it is his easiest way to win more titles. He won't have a better roster anywhere else. That being said, I think LeBron is about his legacy right about now. And I don't think he wants the legacy of always chosing the easiest way. Going back to Cleveland would be a great story for him - sticking with Miami, building a dynasty would be a very good story for him. Helping one of the big teams (Lakers or Knicks) to get back to championship glory would be an alright story. That's why I think he won't come here. It makes a ton of sense for pure basketball reasons, but he doesn't have to go pure ring hunting anymore and he should make any team a contender. I'd feel ecstatic if he joined us. But I'd feelpretty good about Bosh or Carmelo as well.
Maybe this is true. I mean, why would they want to make up story and post on that website? If they make up story, why there are a lot of followers on there? I went through old archives and seems like they talk about fantasy and something like that. I am not sure why they post story about Lebron, it must be true. I dont know, lol.
Not sure Lebron will want to play PF fulltime, especially in the West. If Lebron is signed, not sure Parsons could be re-signed anyway. Parsons would be a trade chip in this scenario.
