    Alternatively...

Office Depot on Black Friday is going to have the legendary $99 HP PC deal... Even comes with moniter and printer... Supposed to save the 3rd world with it, but heck... if you're willing to wait in line. :D

We've got a ton of pretty sweet deals out there for Black Friday at just about all of the major retail outlets. Check them out. These prices will be better than even our employee pricing. We're gonna be selling a lot of these at nearly break even.

On the notebooks, it really depends on what your requirements are. How big would you like your LCD on your laptop? 14.1", 15.4", 17", 12" tablet? That constitutes about 1/3 of the cost of the unit. What sort of performance are you looking for? Are you looking at gaming? In which case you'd want a decent graphics engine and probably a high-end dual core. Are you just using it as a word processor / music box? In that case, go for one of the more mature chipsets, since they are typically better value.

As for the desktop. This is a pretty pimped out machine if you're looking for a everyday workhorse.

HP Pavilion Slimline s7600y (I like the Slimlines.. smaller footprint)
Intel Core Duo T2050 (1.6GHz) (Go with dual cores on desktops if you can)
    1GB DDR2-533MHz SDRAM (1x1024)
160GB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive
HP 19" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
    DVD/CDRW Combo Drive
    HP Deskjet F380 All-in-One Printer
9-in-1 memory card reader, 1USB, audio in front
Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics card
Integrated 7.1 channel sound w/front audio ports
    HP Keyboard, HP Scroller Mouse
    Windows XP Home Edition
    Microsoft(R) Works 8.0/Money 2006/MSN Encarta Plus

Total Price: $708.98 (Our employee discount is a measly $80 off that at $628.98. Shows you how slim the margins are on these products). You can get this from hpshopping.com which also has all your HP toners and inks for cheap and free shipping too.
