I’ve been following their Reddit page for weeks, and they’ve been all in on Chet with an occasional Paolo fan poking their head out Magic fans mostly settled on Jabari Rockets fans all know Paolo is coming here draft night is expected to a boring movie with no M. Knight Shyamalan twist
"Last year, three prospects filled this tier out: Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green and Jalen Suggs." No Mobley? @D-rock faints.
The Lu Dort and 12 to Portland for 7 trade makes sense to get Sharpe. If Chet and Sharpe hit their ceilings and SGA and Giddey stay healthy that’s a fantastic core.
last year was rare indeed where all the top 4 hit, and none of the teams would trade their guy for the other…then there’s Suggs lol but yeah, odds are there will be some disappointments I could see Jabari being good and a winning player, but ultimately not the caliber of player u hope for when selecting #1 overall Chet is built like a wet french fry, and his offensive ceiling is a question mark Paolo could end up being a 25 ppg scorer, but not an amazingly efficient one combined with suspect defense Ivey’s jumper could end up not panning out and he’s not able to effectively run a team…a combo guard that can’t shoot or run effective offense isn’t great maybe some random player people overlooked is the one who truly explodes onto the scene and ends up being the best
So much this and I find it crazy that people are overthinking this so much, especially when projection gets so many GM's fired.
ch44 is legit insider. So I don't doubt his take. But if the Rockets really trade out of #3 just because Banchero is not there, they are going to take a LOT of heat from the fans and the media. If the one that is left on the board at 3 turns out to be a franchise level guy, they will be mentioned a lot for a long time like the passing on of Bird, Drexler, Jordan, Barkley, Garnett, Dirk, Melo, Chris Paul, Durant, and Kawhi, etc.
The two most volatile prospects drafted by the same team? What could possibly go wrong? Should take Hardy and Baldwin while they're at it.
I was initially big on Chet but man, I do not trust he body. Especially if he's going to be adding weight. Part of the death of the traditional big man is that so many of them get hurt. Think of all of the top center talent from a decade ago...most of them didn't have long careers.
ch44 is as good as it gets. if the rockets trade that pick and Chet is there, I will disappear from this place which may be a good thing for one or two people.
I posted this another thread and I haven't seen anyone else post this, so maybe I'm really off base. In the recent highlight thats in Clutch's draft post last Friday. His highlights from the Sweet 16 game vs The Raiders. To me Banchero's game looks like a Bigger Tougher Version of Luka!
