As the OP I was stunned draft night. Not so much dissapointed but just shocked at the change in what was thought to have been certain to happen. But we are just on a different path now to team building. Albeit the easier way. I think the only way this ends up as worse scenario is if Paolo ends up better than Jalen, Smith and Sengun. I am quite confident one of those 3 will ascend to be franchise caliber player. Also, Smith is just a complete game changer on Defense, so we probably need time to process that. I knew he was above average but I think I was vastly underrating him there.
The NBa will unlock another level with this dude (he had all this skill at duke but wasn’t allowed to unleash it.) PB plays like he’s been in the league for 10 years…
You must've missed the season long bashing of Green last year by the Mobley Only Fans. I'm sure the Fancheros will behave in much the same way this year as well lol.
No need to boo Paolo. He's great at what he's great at. He also has known weakness, which is his defense. Jabari is great at what he's great at and has known weakness too. I don't know why people can't accept this and still keep trying to trash the other guy just to prop up their own guy.
Good for the Magic with Banchero and co. Looks like we did really good though regardless with Jabari at 3 given how incredibly versatile, and important it is to have a guy like him long term to do so much. 2022 looks like it's likely to be regarded as one of the better drafts in recent history at least for top level talent. It was a decent year to tank for sure.
Sky is the limit, his game will open up even more with a midrange and his passing game going to 7-8 assist per game....
Great thread. Its always fun to walk down memory lane. Shout out to D-Rock and Jiggy. Paolo will always be the one that got away. Sigh.
We were really lucky to have two solid picks in this draft. Paolo, Chet, Ja. Williams, Bari, Murray, Sharpe, Duren, Kessler, Eason, etc. It looks like it’ll turn out to be one of the deepest drafts in recent history.
