I feel the exact same. Best thing I heard about Smith is he is a shot finisher. We need KPJ or his replacement to hit Smith in his spots.
I'm confused.. Some folks saying he will be a 3 ... others saying 4.... is he a tweener (I hope not)?
I read he is a four. Source: https://theboxandone.substack.com/p/2022-nba-draft-final-big-board-part-fc0?utm_source=email
He can play 3 or a 4 but he is a above average defender. I would love him to play SF but we need size inside.
So many comments about him being a culture leader etc... Does nothing but make me think KPJ needs to go even more. Don't want such a negative cultural fit next to the two draft cornerstones in Jalen and Jabari.
I thought that his strength defensively was mostly lateral movement and using his length on the perimeter. I want Alpi as my second best rebounder and JSmith as my 3rd. Not Alpi as first and Jsmith as second.
What does that even mean? He is a legit 6-10 so he is not undersized. On defense he can defend 1-4 (maybe even 1-5). On offense he is a shooter first and foremost. So you can play a 3 next to him and you can play a 4 next to him. That’s the cool thing about him, you don’t have to worry about fit - you could even play him as a SG.
I am relying on the Rockets Front Office to have made the right Call I am relying on my fellow Clutchfans to let me know if it is right I am good Quietly optimistic Rocket River
Perfect fit for this team. I honestly don’t see him as “that guy”, that’s much more Green/KPJ when creating a shot is needed. I see him being a Bosh type role with Green/KPJ doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Senguns passing ability will make his job of hitting shots much easier too KPJ/Green/Jabari could become the best 3pt% shooting team + senguns playmaking When he grows into his body in a few years he’ll really be able to help sengun in the post as well
