2008 We had a lot going on for us in 2007-08. We had the 22 game winning streak and advanced to the second round, all while dealing with injuries. 12 Rafer Alston 31 Shane Battier 0 Aaron Brooks 3 Steve Francis 25 Gerald Green 19 Mike Harris 44 Chuck Hayes 2 Luther Head 8 Bobby Jackson 7 Mike James 0 Bobby Jones 14 Carl Landry 1 Tracy McGrady 11 Yao Ming 55 Dikembe Mutombo 20 Steve Novak 4 Luis Scola Kirk Snyder 6 Bonzi Wells 30 Justin Williams 33 Loren Woods VS 2013 The Year Of The Beard. We had a lot going on for this year as well. Houston Get's Their Star (James Harden). A Big Man in Omer, which we been crying for the longest and a young ( Really Young) Talented roster. Taking 2012 Western Champs to 6 games and being the #1 target for Dwight Howard. James Anderson Omer Asik Patrick Beverley Aaron Brooks Carlos Delfino Francisco Garcia James Harden Terrence Jones Jeremy Lin Donatas Motiejunas Tim Ohlbrecht Chandler Parsons Thomas Robinson Greg Smith Royce White If I can take players off both teams for one year, this would be my team. PG-Jeremy Lin SG-James Harden SF-Tracy McGrady PF-Carl Landry C-Yao Ming Bench- Chuck Hayes, Omer Asik, Chandler Parsons, Luis Scola, Steve Francis . If you can pick 5 starters and 5 bench players from these two teams, who will you choose?
interesting thread. not sure i'd really go with this, but it'd be cool to see: pg - tmac (22) - lin (26) sg - harden (34) - tmac (12) - battier (2) sf - battier (22) - parsons (26) pf - artest (26) - scola (22) cc - yao (28) - asik (20) i'd have the 10th man as umm...beverley or landry. prob too unconventional, but i almost think it'd be pointless to start lin when we'd have tmac and harden to run the offense. not to mention yao on the inside. you basically surround those 3 with shooters/finishers that can defend and ur good to go. spacing would be terrific. battier/harden (shudders) could defend the pg i guess depending on who it is otherwise we'd have lin/bev to come in defensively. we prob would create more matchup problems for opposing teams, b/c they can't double off artest or battier cuz who both are 40% or near 40% from deep. you could even start scola, idc...kinda just started artest to be "different." cuz scola was very good on the boards in '09, and also spaces the floor with his mid-ranger. actually yea..i'd flip scola(24)/artest(24) like that.
sorry. i didn't even read the thread, i thought it was 07/08 and 08/09. i went off the responses where one guy had artest, so i figured it was that. my bad. REPLACE artest with landry then. pg - tmac (22) - lin (26) sg - harden (34) - tmac (12) - battier (2) sf - battier (22) - parsons (26) pf - scola (28) - landry (20) cc - yao (28) - asik (20)
Brooks Harden Tmac Scola Yao Bench Lin, Green, Asik, Parsons, Landry. With both Harden and Tmac, Lin will be playing his weakest skill, shooting. Rather have the 3p shooting of AB and then Lin comes in and play hard with defense as well as leading the 2nd unit.
and btw, we didn't advance in 08. we lost to utah. i still say to this day if we had alston in game 1 and 2 of that series we win that one. oh well. and promise, this is my LAST post in the thread (before others reply)...i shoulda read all this first and put it in one post. haha.
