Do ISIS terrorists who commit murderous acts in the name of their ideology have a "mental health issue?" This guy and many others before him going back to Timothy McVeigh state pretty clearly why they are committing these acts, and it's ideology and beliefs that have radicalized them... not a mental health illness such as bipolar disease or DID or something. So why is ideology, religion, and race an issue when it's ISIS ideology inspired, but not with its clearly GRT inspired??
Here as on this board or in general? I can point you to many sources that point out violence in black communities and are in favor of gun control, if it is the latter. The point is black on black crime or violence is simply crime or violence, there is no need to add black on black or white on white, doing so just adds unnecessary political connotations to it. Nobody brought up white on white crime when Sandy Hook was shot up. It's whatabboutism. I think it is more valid here but it is valid to have the discussion on both fronts. A person who had previously made threats and underwent mental evaluations due to violent threats ends up legally purchasing firearms and armor and successfully kills and injures multiple people in a matter of minutes. Something about that does not sit right with me and I am a CCL holder and multiple gun owner. Straw sales and corrupt dealers, where a large portion of illegal guns come from needs to be addressed as well but when you take the conversation there and away from the "black on black crime" aspect, nobody wants to talk about it.
I have a friend in Houston who’s little brother was showing signs of mental issues that could have harmed people . His parents immediately put him in an institution. He was there for two years and was put on meds. He’s better now
Just because you do not see it does it mean it fails to exist. There is probably anger about that, just like there is anger about the Buffalo shooting.
This is a really important point. if the person is white, they must be mentally ill. But if they are not white, then it's a terrorist attack by a bigger movement. Ironically, this narrative is partly what feeds GRT. Extremism is extremism. You can't say one murdering extremist is mentally ill but the other is part of an evil organization.
now that’s what responsible parents are supposed to do ain’t no way this guy shouldn’t have been heavily monitored after threatening a school shooting How can u do that and still have your background check come back clean when trying to buy an assault rifle just a year later? How does that happen?
It wasn’t on that level , but they recognized the signs of losing friends, weird behavior, no sleep, getting angry at everything There was a family incident that pushed the parents to do it
What kind of institution? How much does it cost to put someone in an institution for two years? Did the state pay for this, or did the parents pay for this?
good on them for recognizing something was off and taking action these parents on the other hand…ain’t no bigger warning than getting caught threatening to shoot up your school We need to know what precautions they took after that event. the FBI too…Why wasn’t he on strict watch? How many times are we going to hear about a kid threatening to kill people, barely anything happens, and then a short while later he does a mass shooting?
u could be going to HEB on a random Sunday, and that just so happens to be the day the next mass shooter decides to go on a murder spree and your survival basically depends on luck…u could be in the checkout line instead of the back of the store, or entering or leaving the store right as he starts shooting, and that’s it for u it’s crazy to think about
I didn’t go that far into detail but the parents were wealthy people He was diagnosed as bipolar , extremely
Right and believe it or not we actually have almost all if not all mental illnesses clinically diagnosed. So what exact mental illness is causing mass shootings like this... especially one where there is a cause given by the murderer that conflicts with what we see typically with people who suffer from other mental illnesses where if someone suffers from schizophrenia, we see patterns of harm they do to themselves or potentially others if not treated?? Substance abuse, homelessness, or suicide being two common effects we see that are well documented with those untreated. So why is it that there is some mystery mental illness out there that has no other symptoms other than the side effect of leaving manifestos describing the Great Replacement Theory and the existential threat to the world that is non-white supremacy??
or a Flea Market in Houston oh, that's just some beef with some dudes that got out of hand into a shooting.. or a Buck's outdoor watch party
Interesting, because I read his manifesto and he used the same rhetoric you use about black people and crime. That they commit crimes and because of this are not capable of living in a 'western' society. A whole part of his manifesto is dedicated to that. I've always found that rhetoric appalling. I mean here we are in a thread about a white dude going on a racist killing spree and SOMEHOW the criminality of BLACK people is a topic of discussion in this thread. It's amazing to me that whenever black people are victimized they somehow become the aggressors for some...
