I don't know about the all star stuff, but I can see the guy averaging 14-17 pts in his career. I think he might hit his peak as a decent to good defender. It really depends if he ever decides to relentlessly keep adding onto his game in the off-season and become a 20 ppg 48% fg pct type player. I think the guy just has to wake up and tell himself, he is athletic as any of the guys he plays, and decide to make it a source of pride to shut down his opponent defensively every play (like, has an ego about shutting people down).
George Gervin was the master of the finger roll. Charles Barkley was the master of the finger.
His ceiling is that of a Rip Hamilton...He moves eithout the ball well.. I love to see him come off curls into the middle of the paint...Vintage Throwback player... I would guess that C-Bud could be a 18ppg guy ...He knows his limitations which is always a good thing..........
please. Bud's release is slow as Brad Miller compared to Reggie. He just can't get his shot up quickly and that doesn't help his ability to create his own shot.
I think what helps Chase now, is that he's on a very talented roster. Teams really cannot pay attention to him, and I think he's getting to level of player you have to pay more attention to than the usual just one defender. I think the trio of Chase-K-Mart Part II-Brooks is one of the best offensive backcourt trios in the league. You've already got two players who can average over 20 ppg for an entire season with 2nd year player who has the potential to do with minutes. But, his defense is probably the biggest obstacle right now. He's got enough offense to become a pretty good forward, but I do agree with posters that he needs to learn how to draw more fouls. If he does that, he'll get a couple of all-star nods. Especially, if the Rockets keep winning.
Yeah, I doubt Bud ever gets the usage rate that Reggie got.... I am not sure there has been a player that is exactly like Bud, with his athleticism, and moving off the ball type of play......he is fairly unique in that sense. If he gets to the rim more on the bounce, he will really be even more effective. It will be fun watching him develop, because nothing was expected of him as the 45th pick in the draft. DD
Neat poll. Did anyone know back then how good Cassell would be? He was playing off the bench in his first couple years. fast forward, he was an all star and had a great basketball career.
i find the pic amusing, but technically everything about their shots is different except for that part, the middle of the release.
Sam Cassell career progressed alot. Sad thing, we didn't get to see it in Houston, though. But, he was neat to watch in NJ, Milwaukee, Minnesota, and LA. Look who else produce heavily, as not expected from the 90s .. . Steve Nash The 90s was full of point guards, like that. Mark Price was only a 2nd round draft choice and critics thought he was too slow for the NBA. Also, he beat out another borderline HOF (and possible future HOF), Kevin Johnson, who was a rookie in Price's 2nd season, only being mere bench player in his first. Another one was Rod Strickland. Terrell Brandon who suddenly became top 10 point guard after 3 unimpressive seasons in the NBA .
