i point to a play in the final minutes of the dallas game. cbud got his shot blocked close to the basket and instead of collecting the swatted ball right in front of him and going back up with it a second time with more aggression, dude just stood there froze up while a dallas player came over from the side to get the ball. *cbud does not have it.*

I agree with the folks saying that it's premature to judge his qualities at this early stage.

I keep thinking of someone to compare him to but i seem to keep coming back to Thunder Dan as a ceiling who was no sloch in his heyday. The difference being possibly that Budinger may have a bit better shooting and TD having better D.

I'd gladly take a TD as Bud's ceiling. He was a great role player throughout his career.

Anyone remember a player that made great progress developing his lateral mobility? I'm drawing a blank.

And Kmart will be a superstar once he knows how to be a lock down defender.

Ray allen was a lot better at stopping and popping in traffic...chase is too stiff for that, especially his shot wind up...it's a beautiful shot, but made for set shooting mostly.

His numbers as a starter. Probably not an all star but good starting guard.

Push - Too Hard to Determine

I think his ceiling could be to the level of Jason Richardson.

His jump-shooting has become very good (he's improved alot since he was drafted), and he's a very explosive leaper and dunker.

At worst he stays where he is at now, a pretty solid forward off the bench.

Fantasy Outcome: Larry Bird's shooting range; Jason Richardson's or Brent Barry's leaping ability and athleticism; and the passing ability and court vision of Jason Kidd.

I'd say he could be somewhere between Corey Maggette or Stephen Jackson. Very good, top tier role players who with put together a couple of fringe all-star seasons.

if he gets minutes - we might be surprised...

but i voted career role player.

i can't lie - i would love to see a white dude succeed at the NBA level - one who can dunk. lol

hes already better than battier, lee, thats good enough for me.

trade lee + battier + brooks for iggy.

    lowry/ish
    martin/iggy
    iggy/budinger
    scola/hayes/hill/patterson
    yao/miller/jeffries

    idiot......

Iggy is one of the most overrated players in the NBA, he is a #3 option on a decent team.

I say KVH. Good enough to get a really good contract but not enough to carry a team.

his game reminds me of grant hill. he's smooth, flows well. shoots the ball efficiently. moves off the ball. plays in the team defense system.

can he be as good as grant was prior to the injuries? probably not because he just doesn't handle the ball as well. however, he can be better than the current iteration of grant, which is pretty nice.

Grant Hill right now is a better defender than Bud.

Hill in his prime was just amazing. Too bad him and T-Mac couldn't play alongside each other much.

i dont see that comparison ...hill never was as much of a shooter as bud is and will always be....hill was also much more fluid and aggressive than Budinger going to the rim...

probably right, but i'm tired of the comparisons to white players just because of his skin color.
