I've always felt that Budinger looks kind of fragile and feared that he could easily injure himself, hope I'm not right.

It's an injury, part of the game, an accident, nothing the team or player can really do, unless they want to watch every step they take which is impossible.

It's the ligaments that get torn, but that's not always the case, usually they just get stretched, maybe some minor tears, which is probably chase's case. Eventually you need to move it because if not it'll heal stiffly and your range of motion will suck.

I'm not sure where you got the part about muscle memory and the sprain..i dont believe muscle memory develops from one event like that. You'd have to sprain it very frequently for it to remember the sprain and sort of adapt to it. I think you're problem is ankle instability from improper or absence of rehab. You need to strengthen the joint so you dont keep spraining it. Sometimes sprains can cause muscular issues further up your leg/body, especially without proper care, so that too can lead to bad mechanics and future sprains.

The Rockets are NOT contenders this season. They play hard, and their younger players are exceeding expectations, but they are NOT contenders in the slightest.

There is no point in trading T-Mac right now out of necessity. If the Rockets could get a great deal for T-Mac right now, it would already have happened.

Things are starting to heat up, players are becoming available and teams are beginning to want to move contracts. Time will come, but not yet.

Injury to Chase is an opportunity for Taylor. I hope they are both in the rotation by the all star break. Keep Battier at about 32 mins and Ariza at about 36.

Bud has been Impressive this year and its obvious that he fits in Adelman's system. Hopefully he Recovers Fully and does not rush back to prevent re-injury as the Rox are only 1/3 into the season. Other players will Step Up and considering that the Rox/TMAC are wisely and cautiously working minutes back in (i.e. Chris Webber), this may be a Great Opportunity to see if the non rotational players and or D-Leaguers can contribute. Would be cool to see Wafer back but if Coach A does not want him, that's ok too...

This decade, the Rockets have pulled off a busy number of trades in December.

02-03: KT for Posey, ...and the alleged "F Houston"
03-04: Moochie + Amaechi for Weatherspoon
04-05: MoT for Moochie + Baker
    Gaines for M.James + Z.Hamilton
    J.Jackson + Boki for Wesley
    Lue for Barry
    08-09: Francis for a 2R pick (Memphis)

I don't think were going to see more t-mac because chase is down, I think were going to see more lowry and brooks with ariza or battier at the 3, unless were playing a big backcourt.

Trading tmac isnt going to Happen I believe Morey is setting up for 2010. As for us not been contenders this is why The Rockets 12 13 13 and 15th man on the Roster will kick in and show How deep we are. This will prove that we dont need to make a MAJOR trade and show how serious we will be once Playoffs get here. Taylor will show people like you how Great the Houston Rockets are.

Unless Trevor plays anywhere NEAR like he did last night, we're going to struggle offensively mightily if he's forced to play 40+ minutes

He's good. Even getting stomped on the face doesn't phase him

Taylor and McGrady seem poised to get more minutes. McGrady might be bumped up to 10 minutes on the court now, while Taylor will get a decent shot, but if he proves lacking defensively or offensively, his minutes might shrink and go to Lowry, Brooks, Ariza and/or Battier.

Either way, I hope Chase gets heals up properly. The last thing we need is for a potential starting SF of the future to suddenly start picking up a bunch of injuries.

this could be a blessing in disguise. you gotta look at the silver lining here: we have another rookie that can flat out score and he hasn't really had the opportunity to get in there and showcase his talent. j-taylor time to bring the pain!!!

I agree. T-mac will not be traded this season. I honestly think he will resign next season for the veteran minimum and contribue well - whether that is as a starter or coming off of the bench. If everything plays out well, next season is going to be great; but for now GO ROCKETS!

surprised no body adressed the probability of mcgrady's minutes being increased due to chases injury. i am sure the rockets training staff will make sure chase gets that ankle better, just don't come back too early, playing basketball on even a minor sprain can be painful
