wow i guess T-Mac will play more minutes, cause Ariza cannot play 47 minutes a game like he did yesterday well, i hope C-Bud will recover soon and well, and that T-Mac will improve while playing more time
I think T-mac is going to be limited to 8 minutes for a bit longer - rushing him back might be a mistake because MFS has many athletes think they are ready well before they actually are, and then the pain returns.
Hard to believe he can recover in just 3 weeks. I guess recover enough to play. Takes at least 6 for the thing to feel normal.
It does heal. I've have a 2nd degree ankle sprain and have had no issues since. Of course everybody is different but I would think for the most part it completely heals.
When you look at it, in the past 5 years not many trades at all that happen during December and January, like maybe 1 a month if they're lucky. Almost none in November. http://www.nba.com/news/transactions/2009_10/ Its a typo or glitch, but for December '08 there's NO transactions of any kind listed. We know a month didnt go by without nothing happening. But it might indicate that since such little activity usually goes on that they dont even notice its not listed. http://www.nba.com/news/transactions/2008_09/ I guess it means even bad front offices are more calculating than they appear.
Never heals quite fully though. I tore up an ankle 15 years ago and it was never the same. The ankle is lose and buckles a lot to this day. There's a lot of scar tissue in there and if I play ball is swells up quite a bit. Never heals fully. Liagments and tendons never do.
I'd like to see J. Taylor get some playing time. I think he has the potential to be as good, if not better, than Budinger. He has more of a shot-creating skill, which comes in handy on those nights where your outside shots are not falling...the reason Budinger suffers some nights.
Doctors told me that when ankle gets sprained, the tissues in the muscle get torned, so it requires no use of the ankle for it to heal completely. On the other hand, even if it heals completely, since human muscles have memories, the next time, the foot lands unevenly on the floor, the muscle will automatically loose itself for any further damage and resulting in a less severe sprain. That is why those people who gets ankle sprains are much easier to get second, third..... on the same ankle. My right ankle has had several severe sprains like that, so now even when i am coming down stairs orwalking on uneven grounds, I can get my ankle sprained, that's so frustrating
Get well soon Chase but this can be a blessing.. Finally or probably Jermaine Taylor will get his chance. I hope. I really want to see this guy play from all the hype I remember reading during draft night. You can't look at Youtube to determine if a guy is good or not. I hope he gets his chance. Either that or McGrady's mins get extended a lil bit. Maybe 10-12 mins now. Since RA is the coach he'll probably kill his starters with giving them heavy mins. I hope not.
Last time I had a severe ankle sprain, very similar in appearance and situation to Chase's, I couldn't run for a month and couldn't play full-speed basketball for 6 months. Of course, I was stubborn and didn't go to the doctor so I'm sure the medical care Chase receives will shorten his recovery considerably. Just saying, if not treated properly a severe ankle sprain can be a hell of an injury. Even with great treatment and therapy it'll linger long after he initially comes back.
Now we will see if Adelman trusts JT for a few mins, looks like he doesn't have much of a choice...either give Tmac more mins or time to try out JT.
I'm a veteran of this too...I think the key is always thinking of your landing after jumping in the air. If your toe is pointed, you are just asking for it. In Chase's case, a good tape job could have helped. His shoe was almost 90 degrees on its side.
