anyone who scores 15 with 10 shots is going to get a contract larger than MLE. Much Much larger probably. Do you realize how insane it is to average a 1.50 True Shot percentage?
There were 2 beautiful passes in this clip <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ERdS1rSRD0&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8ERdS1rSRD0&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
just looked up the stats, it's actually not as insane as I thought... here's a list of guys with 1.50+ Pts/FGA who had more than 5FGA per game last season: Dwight Howard, 12.4 FGA, 1.66 Pts/FGA Shaq, 11.21 FGA, 1.59 Pts/FGA Nene Hilario, 9.2 FGA, 1.58 Pts/FGA Kevin Martin, 15.9 FGA, 1.55 Pts/FGA Greg Oden, 5.75 FGA, 1.54 Pts/FGA Carl Landry, 6 FGA, 1.53 Pts/FGA Amare Stoudemire, 14.13 FGA, 1.51 Pts/FGA You'll notice that Kevin Martin was the only non-bigman in this group. and he was aided by his insane 10.3 FTA to reach his 1.55 ratio. Simply put, I don't think a shooter, no matter how good he is, can realistically achieve that kind of efficiency. Not in today's NBA.
Is everyone still going nuts over this guy? He's really struggling, shooting 38.6% from the field and 27.3% from downtown. He certainly knows how to pass inside and move without the ball, but otherwise he's a non-factor. Most of his games have been big duds. He certainly looks more like a role player than an impact player. He and Jermaine Taylor are the only rockets getting less than one point per shot and we can all agree Taylor stinks so far. If this continues in the regular season you guys will have to admit something is wrong.
It will be a replay of Landry and Brooks. Preseason fg% is the major factor that determines if a player becomes a star.
Lets just hope he doesn't adopt the Batman's bad habit of camping out in the corner 3 point line.... In fact, Battier could learn a few things from Budinger, that is how to cut and move to open spaces and be an actual offensive threat.
I love the way Morey does more with 2nd round picks than the other guys do with late first-round picks.
His shooting has cooled down but Adelman still has confidence in the kid. Chris Douglas-Roberts who Morey could have had but decided to draft Dorsey is having a fine pre-season, he averaged 19ppg 8th best in the NBA. Reminds me of Bud, guys that were supposed to be drafted higher but fell in the draft.
If Budinger does prove himself early on, I'd be curious to see what Adelman does when McGrady returns. He'll have four guys - McGrady, Ariza, Battier and Budinger - for the 2, 3 positions, and he'll only have enough play time for three.
He'll do whatever fits best, hell, this is great. He can create mismatches easily... Chay Bud may get to start some to relieve Battier against bad perimeter teams but I don't see him fully replacing him. He may be the new and improved Von.
He has been working his tail off the whole summer, im just glad its happening now rather than down the stretch of the season. One rookie wall, per rookie in his rookie season, thats the way it works right?? i dont think ive seen a rookie have two in one season, unless they suck arce.
