I think either Paul George or Bud should have won.

Bud should have done the between the legs dunk like he did in the All-American dunk contest instead of the windmill. He most likely would have won if he did that.

Well you did just pick two guys on probably the unfairest dunk contest in the last ten years - AND you picked a dunk in which DeRozan needed about 5 tries to get it done and, well, the free throw line dunk's been done way too many times already anyway

Basically your criticism doesn't make sense cause you're that these well-known dunks wouldn't be scored as highly anymore, but they probably aren't scored that high anymore precisely because those guys already made them famous in the 80's!

    JRich said it best:

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Last thing there's nothing wrong w/ repeating a dunk that has been done b4. Jus be creative and do it a little different.</p>&mdash; Jason Richardson (@jrich23) <a href="https://twitter.com/jrich23/status/173626239330942978" data-datetime="2012-02-26T04:31:35+00:00">February 26, 2012</a></blockquote>

The FT line had been done by Dr. J before MJ but MJ added his flare to it (bringing the ball down and back up, the kicking of the legs). Chase took Ceballos' "blindfold" dunk and did a reverse with it.

Can't copy a dunk and expect to get the same score as the previous try.

the FT line dunk has still never been done, by my math. nobody has ever been behind the line.

And thats exactly why there's still room to improve old dunks or make them different. Everything hasn't been done.

I believe Dr. J did it while in the ABA.

If Chase had improvised his second dunk, he would have fared better. Maybe self alley-oop into a windmill dunk. Just a simple windmill just didn't cut it.

Evans had the best dunk of the night (the one with two balls). I'm OK with his victory. I voted for Budinger anyway, but I don't mind Evans winning.

I hate that jersey Evans wore and everything it represents but real recognize real, that dunk with 2 balls and Hayward assisting was sick.

    Jrich and Vcarter spoiled us.

There can still creative dunks. I mean remember most recently DHowards throw off the backboard, bat the ball against the backboard, and then dunk it? That was sick and creative.

Doing off the side of the backboard is impressive, b/c the dunkers are usually starting behind the backboard. You have to get high, but low enough to not take your head off and STILL dunk on the other side. That is plain incredible.

Bud's dunks were still really nice, again, we are just spoiled. Let's hope the bigger name guys like Bron and such are just holding out so that the NBA basically is begging them to participate. Well, that time is now.

And this is why all-star selections / dunk contests aren't taken seriously.
