I don't think Chase deserves a spot. He's been inconsistent, and generally has struggled with his shot (he plays the swing position for the Rockets though - so that goes without saying...) Chase has been better than expected, but not good enough to force out any of the guys selected.
Because Chase is not a good bench player like Landry. If you let him play starter and play more more minate, he will be good.
I don't know how good Jerebko's defense is but if its better than Chase's defense then its pretty damn good. Chase is no slouch on defense and he is almost never out of position. Good that you watch Jerebko play a lot.
Well that suck's maybe they didn't add him to the roster b/c he missed those three weeks a while back.... Oh well he can always make the sophomore team next year!!! -RB
Predicated on his performance tonight, he's considered neither a consistent scorer off the bench nor a decent defender. Well, he's been treated fairly on this one. Not surprised that he didn't make it.
Completely agree, love the kid and think he maybe a beast off the bench one day but no where is he near in the same breath as most of the rookies on the team. Maybe if he could play center.
Why should he make it? Once he was a spot up three point shooter who could also slash to the basket and make a dunk. Now it looks like he has no idea what he is doing. He is so mixed up about his role, he has gone away from what he does well! Has to be the coaching trying to make him into something he isn't
I think he deserved a spot, but only because I feel a couple of the rookies on the roster are undeserving. It'd be close for sure, but Budinger should have gotten the nod.
Rick doesnt play him. im starting not to care too mich for Rick. he makes a lot of questionable decisions. seems like he puts Bud on the court for 4-5min stretches and then pulls him. he never gets a chance to get in a groove, he's just expected to come out and be "on" each time. he deserves more time and should get it. also it's like Rick has some type of allegiance towards the starters like even if they're clearly a bad matchup against certain teams he still has to play them. i dont get it...and im still stuck on us not even giving mcgrady a chance ( i know i know)...i swear Texas teams are killin me...always so close yet so far away...
You don't actually watch the games do you? Budinger was injured and has come back worse, even though he gets 20-28 minutes a game now. Budinger was playing only 10-18 minutes in the early part of the season and kicking ass. If Budinger can't do anything in a whole half(24 minutes), that's on him.
Of course he's not voted into the Rookie challenge. Because no one really watch him play except for Houston fans. The Rockets get no national tv so no one across the league really pays any attention to him.
At one point in the season he might of had a chance. But then the injury, and the inconsistency, along with the fact that most people have no idea who the hell Chase is.
