Having reported directly to Wes for 3 years I can confirm. He's never not tuned in. He's never off. He's never not the smartest guy in the room and nothing is his fault. I will say there's also no ambiguity on where you stand. He will literally turn his back on people in a meeting and feed his dog only to turn back around after that person is done speaking. Without knowing anything else, I can say with confidence that if Wes was involved in this, Adrian wasn't surprised.
Just might be lol. He seems to be a franchise destroyer and if 2025 comes and Giannis is demanding out I wouldn't be surprised at all.
I'm not sure if you intended this as an example of him being a diva, but even though it wasn't really a bad answer... it was still a bit of an overreaction considering the question was either A) just a reporter trying to get him riled up (which the coolest headed athletes never fall for, then on the other end you have the Worstbricks), or B) just an honest [if kind of vapid] question. I could see some players answering "of course it was a failure, anything short of a title is a failure". I understand your emotions can be hard to check after a playoff elimination, but still.
He's desperately wants to be the new Lebron of the East except at least LeGM is a better evaluator of talent.
Has any team ever fired two coaches less than 3 years after they won a championship and been keeping a 69% winning percentage?
You would think Giannis is the next Lebron messing with Front Office decisions.....but I think Giannis is a goner....
Giannis needs an elite coach to return to winning championships. Nurse and Udoka were the two available. Never made sense to get a first-year coach. Rivers is a mistake, too. He will only drive Giannis to leave and head to the Lakers. But that's probably the point of him getting that job.
Yannis does not need anything, he can literally pick any team he wants.......staying in Milwaukee is fine but it is like Damian staying in Portland. (plus the sole championship) He can only join a younger team if he leaves IMO.
The pairings of elite coaches and superstars are what win championships. You can get one with a decent coach, like Giannis and Budenholzer, but multiple championships are won by elite coaches. I mean, historically that is the pattern.
I think history will be re-made and there will be fewer and fewer dynasties and more sole championships. Coaches are getting fired a lot more.
. . . . and hired Doc Rivers Just had to revisit this Rocket River Maybe they win it all . . . . who knows
If Doc Rivers was a baseball manager, he would somehow not win one with 2 MVPs in their prime and only luck into one with a super team that is Dust... Doc proof.
