Hakeem definitely a top 10 player, and the 2nd best center ever right behind Bill Russell(when you have more rings then fingers, then you're something special)
I agree with most of this. I'd probably put Kareem over Hakeem, but it's a close one. But because I hate ESPN and like you guys, I'll throw Hakeem at the top of my list to try to move him up.
Kind of pointless and silly... Kobe @ #3 and Dream @ #13? These types of polls are geared towards 14 year olds and compare to something like the MTV Movie Awards, where 'The Hurt Locker' doesn't have a chance against 'Twilight' or 'Transformers'...
1. Michael Jordan 2. K. Abdul-Jabbar 3. Magic Johnson 4. Larry Bird 5. Bill Russell 6. Shaquille O'Neal 7. Kobe Bryant 8. Wilt Chamberlin 9. Hakeem Olajuwon 10. Julius Erving 11. Tim Duncan 12. Oscar Robertson 13. Moses Malone 14. Jerry West 15. George Mikan If I had to chose, Mikan wouldn't even make this list. Shaq, I don't care what anyone says, was the most dominating force basketball has ever seen. If Wilt played in today's game, he would only be a 22 and 11 player, so Tim Duncan-ish, which is still good, but his numbers were bloated because of the lack of talent he played against. Kobe Has to crack the top ten, 5 championships, an MVP (Should be 2), game changer, winner.
Dream's Rockets would have beat the ever-living **** out of Kobe's Lakers day in and day out. Enough said.
Shaq has to play Hakeem, Robinson, Moses Malone, Ewing, Mutombo, Morning, Vlade Divac, Yao Ming, and thats just a few.
Man, I'm a Rockets fan, but you guys are some of the biggest homers I've ever seen LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if they won, but it would be at least a 6 game series, and the Lakers could win.

Shaq didn't even come into the league until Moses Malone was on his way out. Shaq didn't reach his prime until Hakeem, Robinson, and Ewing had passed theirs. Mourning, Divac, and Yao are all good centers, but not worth mentioning if you're talking about the tough competition Shaq had to face.
Fisher and Kobe would be strong and difficult to deal with. Maxwell would irritate the hell out of Kobe and Fisher may get a little weary from chasing AB all over the court. Gasol is softer than David Robinson with half the skill. Bynum and the ex-Clipper disappear more than Casper. Dream would use those rag dolls up like cheap toilet paper. No contest.
The Lakers wouldn't have a chance against a team with a prime Dream. Did you see how easily KG (with bad knees) got good shots against Gasol when they actually went to him in the post? Can you imagine Gasol and Bynum trying to play Hakeem?

So you're saying Shaq dominated Dream, Robinson, Moses Malone, Ewing, Mutombo, Mourning, etc....? Actually he didn't. He 'dominated' after all those guys retired or were wayyy past their prime. Yao Ming was more current than the others you mentioned and Shaq never really even 'dominated' him one on one on a consistent basis, the same way Howard hasn't. Nice try, though. ...and thanks for proving my original point in this thread.
Then you missed the point -- I didn't really prop up Fisher that much. The point is that this Lakers team simply wouldn't match up well against Dream's Rockets. In other words, they'd get their hollywood asses kicked. Hard.
