lol, the announcer during game said something about Kobe going over to check if Ginobili is ok. Bullsh!t. he never did that. i just love how they try to sugar coat everything.
I honestly just saw the clip posted earlier, I can't stand the Spurs so I did not watch the game. Looked like he dropped to the fetal position like he usually does when he flops.
Does the Lakers schedule EVER get hard? Seriously, I don't understand why so many people think the Lakers are a darkhorse? They've played 6 more home games than road games. They're 6-0 in their division, but then they've only played Phoenix once, the very first game of the season, and everyone else in that division sucks. Now, they finally hit the road for a big road trip, and who do they play? NYK Boston Indiana Wash. Atl. Det. Toronto Cleveland They follow that up with a 4 game homestand against NYK Cleveland Portland Boston I guess their March and April are a little bit tougher, though. Kings twice, Nuggets twice, Clippers twice, Sonics twice and Suns twice with 3 home and away back to backs all in 2 and half weeks to end the season. Not that the Rockets aren't in a soft portion of their schedule right now. As to how this all relates to this thread?? Well, anytime Kobe is out, it helps the Rockets. Same with Ginobili getting hurt.
It's kind of ironic. He really threw out his arms in an attempt at a flop get a cheap foul though it was a clean block, and the elbow ended up in Ginobili's face.
Kobe must me more talented than I thought. To be able to shoot the ball, get blocked, elbow someone who deserves it intentionally, catch the ball, and shoot it again and almost making it in almost one motion is amazing. How does kobe get a suspension for this while Bowen gets to drop kick people in the face.
Looking at the replay the elow swung was definitely intentional. But, it didn't seem to hit Flopybili that hard for him to fall and cry like that. The biggest flopper also pulled his usual stunt. So, the correct call should've been suspending both of them. And that would've been a real win win situation
can't believe so many of you think this is a fair suspension. I've never seen something like this turned into a suspension. He intentionally flailed his arm out there in hopes of a foul (exaggerated motions often draw foul calls) or maybe to hold off ginobili from getting the ball and calling timeout? Or maybe it was an instinctive reaction as someone was blocking his shot. Regardless, he wasn't aiming to hurt someone. It wasn't even a flagrant foul. It could've been a foul, if someone wanted to decide the game on that play with under 1 second left. But a flagrant? No. A suspension? Even bigger no.
Agreed. I don't see how he couldve been looking at Ginobili through his peripheral vision so he could hit him in the grill all while attempting to get the rebound and go up for a second shot attempt....Not that I'm so sympathetic for either Ginobili who is the NBA's biggest flopper or Kobe whose Lakers team we are trying to gain ground on in the West.
I love watching that video over and over again... it's the first time I ever saw Ginobody fall to the ground w/out really flopping... guess all the flopping came back to haunt him.
Ginobili needs to get hit by Deke and Karl malone at the same time to make up for all the flopping he does.
exactly, that would take some amazing planning to shoot, intentionally hit a dude behind you, and shoot again all in about 1 second. he always throws his arms out like that when he's trying to draw a foul on a strip of the ball, ginobili's face just happened to be there. even if you say he was suspended b/c he flails his arms like that and they don't want it happening again, deke's never been suspended for one of his elbows, at least that i can remember, and those usually do a lot more damage. but they aren't intentional even though he does it quite a bit. did anyone even think there was a possibility of a suspension coming?
i dont know guys, it looked like he was either trying to create contact or move his hand around his body... if he wanted to hit him, he wouldnt have doene it like that..
i was hoping this would happen... i saw this game on sunday. you can tell that right when kobe gets blocked he's upset about it, so throws his arm out and hits ginobili on purpose. kobe is a sore loser and a punk. what a terrible athlete who gets way too much attention.
