Cool, and we have one of them. Would you rather not have a potential NBA starter on your GLeague roster?
Caboclo will see minutes at 5 just like Luc did, if he makes regular season roster. I like the signing, low risk - high reward.
If Mike DAntoni can make use of Boris Diaw as a shooter, passer anything is possible for his offense. Clint Capela, Zhou Qi, Bruno Capoclo are young shot blockers and Zhou and Bruno can shoot the 3 and Free Throws. The Bench options at the end of the game when Clint can't shoot Free Throws maybe substitute with Zhou or Bruno.
Boris Diaw was extremely skilled for his size already, and he even played PG for Atlanta at some points as well as C. He averaged 9/5/5 per 36 his final season with ATL and he was a 44% 16-<3PT shooter his first two seasons. He wasn't this unskilled guy that just blossomed out of nowhere. He didn't add the 3PT shot in any useful way until his last season with them though. The move to PF/C and the spacing to attack from the middle of the floor as well as him individually improving as a young player was big for him, but D'Antoni certainly helped him bring it together by putting him in the right shots and being confident in him. International competition also helped him to be more confident in his game. Caboclo does need to not suck first, nowhere near as skilled, but he might show himself useful as a PF, maybe? Not sure if he can actually defend well outside of being long and athletic, but there no harm in taking a chance on him.
Home run hitters are notorious for a higher number of strike outs. The good news is we didn't give up a 1st or PatPat for a swing at these 2.
there wasn't much downside to that trade, though. We lost brad miller and got the rights to switch our 1st rounder with Minnesota's higher 1st. We also re-acquired the 2nd rounder we sent to Minny for cash considerations...who ended up being a future Mavericks "superstar"
We got him for nothing, why not. If this boy can develop any f**king skills to go in that body he could be useful. Doubt he is anything other than camp fodder and a Viper, but as fliers go, this is a good one.
Probably has been said already, in the 6 preceding pages, but can't this guy be in the mold of Capela? PnR + defense? Or does he actually a semblance of an offensive game outside the paint?
He can space the floor with a pretty decent 3 point shot, and can block shots. He is a finesse player. I think he lacks aggression, but sometimes confidence changes things too. It's up to him, as to how much better he can become. He has potential to become a good role player, but he hasn't lived up to it so far.
