I'll second that, I used to love hanging out at that place in college. I always thought it was just a coffee shop though, didn't know they had a full breakfast selection.
great coffee. just straight up coffee. normal, everyday coffee...but very, very delicious and good and tasty and good.
FFB, It's on Westheimer just east of Montrose on the northside. They have great salads, pizzas and pastas too. And great coffee. Also, Buck Turgidson says that The Breakfast Klub is awesome.
The Sunday brunch menu at Brennan's is really good. The lady singer is pretty good, too. No bottomless mimosas, but you can have a sazerac or reaally good bloody marys. My menu : Turtle soup , eggs and oysters with spinich, chocolate caramel pie, with bloody marys. Alcohol is a big part of the appeal of brunch. Not all of it ... it's nice to take a longer meal in the daytime and get to have a good conversation -that's closer to the classically french way of dining, actually, instead of wolfing down whatever and running or being time-pressed by evening activities.
actually, it's the european way. they all tend to really take their time over meals and i agree, that's a good thing.
