Codman has the inside scoop on fishing for cod. If you want to know where to take your boat, you ask the codman.

Derrick Williams isn't good at anything so I don't feel bad about derailing a year and half old thread to talk about Okafor.

I can't make up my mind about Okafor. Before the season, I was all for it. Now? Not so much. The talent and skill set are obvious. He's a very gifted player that could probably put up some big numbers here, but let's be honest: he's basically a glorified, taller version of Mo Taylor. At least right now. Sure, he has the upside of an All-Star, but the current version of Okafor doesn't rebound well or make us any tougher.

I see zero reason to bring in a C who is weak as a rim protector to a team with 3 offensively savvy Cs and a lack of rim protection

I have no interest in Okafor unless it is for a minor cost.

Okafor is a dinosaur in the modern NBA.

He isn't efficient at all, he requires post ups. He doesn't run the floor especially well, he isn't a very good rebounder, he doesn't shoot well from the line or from 3. His work ethic is not good this year.

My sentiments exactly. I don't mind the Pels getting Okafor. Unibrow spreads the floor so Okafor can work
underneath while the great defender AD helps cover the defensive flaws of Okafor somewhat. Rockets
D would take a big hit with Okafor.

I just threw in for a chance of snagging a big man (not named Asik) that 1 of the 2 teams might be trying to
unload. Codman and I see the NBA differently.....teams are moving away from postup centers (esp those who
don't play defense) and moving towards mobile centers/PF's that are required to guard smaller players on
the perimeter due to forced switches. I rate NN higher than Okafor for those reasons. Embiid w/NN are
actually a good fit since Embiid has 3-pt distance range shooting. Problem is NN is a RFA that will be offered
big money. Better to trade him knowing you have Simmons/Ilyasova/Holmes up & coming & still under contract. Simmons is about ready to play PF minutes....Embiid/NN/Holmes can handle the
center spot for the rest of the year. I'm sure they will move a Nerlens as well.
(Best Wishes Codman in being healthy).

Back to Derrick Williams......like Okafor (predominantly post up-iso guy) doesn't fit the Rockets scheme, neither does Derrick Williams and his mid-range shooting. Shame because he shot
timely 3-point shots in college. Unfortunately Williams has not adjusted to NBA 3-pt range.
Stauskas was the same way until this year. It appears Stauskas has finally adjusted. Okafor
is not an enforcer on the NBA court....maybe outside the night club like in his rookie year.

It's illegal to keep an Atlantic cod iirc. Don't take that advice if he puts you anywhere in this region marked in blue:

They're commercially extinct. Ask any older boston fishermen. Just kidding, don't ask them anything as you are likely to find yourself in a fight over nothing.

Uh, then why did you regurgitate espn to me when I was asking him for a slice of what he knows from the inside? I would have been fine with silence. I still am. *nudge nudge*

Any reason you are being unnecessarily toxic?

You asked an open ended question; I answered it. You either constructed your question poorly or were not already aware of the readily available information I relayed.

Also, this is a very silly statement:
Codman has a window which provides him a view of the NBA few people enjoy. However, it is one view and not the entire picture. I think he would say the same thing.

To assert that Codman knows more than ESPN is pretty ludacris. ESPN has an army of resources that is tied into every single team. So, while you may not like the Mothership, they certainly are capable of reporting news first.

Either way, no reason to be a douchebag. *nudge nudge*

I think he can play. I hate it that the Wolves, and all the other teams he played for made him a power forward. He doesn't play that position, he is too small for that position. He is a small forward that is his primary position. If the Rockets get him they better play him at small forward.
