Once Dirk deteriorates and his ashes get carried off by the wind that team is going to be the worst team he will have ever played for.

Not to mention Dallas has no chance at making it back to the NBA finals. OKC will demolish them.

That would be a suicide for Dwight's career.

If we lose out on Howard I hope we save the cap room for summer 2014

Morey can't trade T-Rob. Lin is untradeable.

What now? The Rockets won't have the cap room for Dwight?

If desperate, all Morey has to do is package TR with a future pick.

Howard believes in Cuban I guess. He also won't take a backseat to another guy like Harden but then I don't know how that would be different from his time in Orlando.

Dallas on fire tonight. Be interesting to see their situation when the dust settles.

They have more salary committed after tonight than they did going in.

Mavs actually saved closer to $200,00 dollars. With the trade of Cunningham, the Mavs have incurred an approximate $500,000 roster charge, though there is close to a $200,000 difference between Cunningham and Larkin's contracts. This would put the Mavs at about $18.7 million if OJ is renounced.

McMahon says Mavs still 2.74M shy of being able to offer Dwight the max

I assume you meant $18.7M of cap room, right?

    I dont think so buddy

    Dirk - $22,721,381
    Carter - $3,180,000
    Crowder - $788,872

Total = $27,150,528 if they trade Marion, do not match Collison & Beaubois, already traded Cunningham to Hawks and Mayo already opted out~~

    $31,349,472 in cap space

Actually, we can assume Marion will pick up his option and count against the cap. Let's not assume trades before they happen, or else every team would have as much cap space as they want to project lol.

So that is $27.1M + $9.3M. Didn't they also pick up a first rounder tonight that is guaranteed money? Of around $1M? If so...then they are looking at $37.4M team salary + $3.4M (7 x $490k roster charges) for a total of around $40.8M. They actually only have around $17.7M in cap space. Exactly as reported, around $2.7M short of offering Dwight his max.
