The concern about OUR system sounds like BS. Our system is catered to our roster. We didn't have a run-n-gun system two years ago with Scola and Dragic. Anyone with a brain could figure that out. I really don't see how Dallas' situation can compete with ours.

First person to talk about our system as a concern...interesting. Cause I kind of thought the same. That our system was similar to Lakers last year...but morey has said we dont really have a post player, and would prefer post plays coming from the 5 spot surrounded by 4 shooters.

I would think telling dwight look. We want you to take 90% of all post plays. We know how to do it, we did it with Yao and got him the ball when he was double teamed every night and was somewhat immobile. We will get you the ball.

And you will always have 4 shooters/scorers to kick out to when you need it.

Broussard: Dallas is a slight front-runner. He likes the idea of going there, having his own team. Next summer, the Mavs will be in position to build around Dwight. That appeals to him.

The Rockets, his concern is that they play a style similar to Mike D'Antoni's. He questions whether they would feature him. When they sit down with him, they have to convince him he'll be a feature part not only on defense but offense as well.

If Dwight wanted to play with an aging superstar player and be the face of the franchise moving forward, why wouldn't he just stay in LA.

You earn another guaranteed max dollar year on your contract and instead of playing with 1 aging star you get to play with THREE.

The difference with Houston and Dallas here is that if the Rockets end up not signing Dwight the Rockets are going to be very much ok, and still have a bright future.

If the Lakers and especially the Mavs miss out on Dwight, they have ALOT to lose from an organizational relevance standpoint.

I think its time for Morey to start making some other phone calls to LaMarcus Aldridges agent to see if he would like the opportunity to be in the same situation that Dwight could be in with Houston instead.

Oh God. I'd rather he resigns with the Lakers than goes to Dallas. That's the worst case scenario in my mind.

    "Dallas is a frontrunner?"

If true---IF true---only because his agent and Cuban are buddies.

Houston is turn key for Dwight.

    Mavs? Not so much.

I'm sure Dwight will do his due diligence though and arrive at the conclusion he's already come to: I'll be ballin in H-town next year.

I hope Howard realizes the reason we played fast paced was because we had no post threat. If we got him, he would be a feature of the offense.

ALSO: why would you go to Dallas to play by yourself, hoping for a star, when you could sign with Houston who already has a top 10 player entering his prime. Additionally, Parsons is on the comeup.

Goddamnit, it would be hard to take if we lose to Dallas.

It may be a slightly better situation than the Lakers if Dirk takes a much smaller deal a year from now, but overall it seems like a lateral move to me. Both teams are in rebuilding mode which means that 2013-14 will be a write-off in terms of contending for a title. Both teams feature an aging, injured superstar who may not have much gas left in the tank. And both teams are coming off disappointing seasons, with the Mavs not even making the playoffs.

Honestly, this move makes no sense. It's based on potential and hypotheticals(i.e. signing LeBron in 2014) which is the same situation he'd be leaving from in L.A. Why not just stay there, get more guaranteed money, be in a bigger market, and not have to deal with the heat he'd inevitably receive from bailing on the Lakers?

I am really annoyed that he is considering the Mavs. If he really wants to be the man then I don't know what to think. He will not be able to lead a team to the finals anymore being the lone ranger. You need 2 true stars at least so he can be a 1B to Harden's 1A. Who knows who the Mavs end up with next year and whoever it is why would they let it be Dwight's team? I am hoping this is Broussard being a tool.

Maybe Dwight's camp is smart enough to get them to shed Marion and their 13th pick so they will be depleted this year and that will be 4 wins automatically. Give them a glimmer of hope so they will gut the team and leave a division rival hopeless. If only Dwight's camp was this smart...

Anyways, it's not like the Mavericks have reliable post play either but I guess they do have a lot more structure in the half court but McHale should be able to convince him that we can and will play to our personnel unlike D'Antoni and to a certain extent Carlisle.

We will get out and run and if it is not there then we will setup something in the half court.

see this is what i was talking about..fearing dallas as a potential frontrunner..

is this broussard just saying some bs, because i think adding dwight gives us another option along with the up-tempo option

dwight going to dallas is indeed worse than him resigning with LA.

    man im so effin pissed

everyone kinda wrote off the mavs to be like a 'meh' candidate, but is this true?

IMO, Houston is his ONLY option that makes total sense. Damn near a no brainer.

Let's hope DH sees it the same way.

This is like trying to steal some other guy's wife, taking foolish comfort at all the signs that she's too demanding and self-absorbed to stay with him. Guess what? She'll make you as miserable as she made him.

So basically Howard wants the right coach, the right teammates and the right system that would fit his skills. On top of max contract of course. And if a teammate gives him an angry/bad look at any moment, he has to be fired right away.

What a sissy...Do you really want such a p***y of a player to be part of great Rockets story that started with Harden, Lin, Asik and Parsons?

No, I'm not thinking of Steven A. Broussard insisted that Lebron was going to Miami well before the decision. And if I remember right, Lebrons people kept very quiet during that whole process. So basically everyone was making predictions.

If this was Woj or even Stein reporting it, I'd be very discouraged. Broussard, not so much. He was convinced Dwight was about to be traded to Brooklyn for a loaded dumpster.

Except Dwight didn't make the Lakers miserable, they made him miserable.

Using your analysis, this is like trying to get another man's wife that he was never satisfied with, when she cooked him dinner he complained it was 5 minutes late, beat her in public, etc.

Dwight went to LA off of back surgery, played in a system that didn't fit him and managed to play all but 6 games despite coming back from injury. And what did he get for it? Ridiculed by the media and treated like a punk by his star teammate.
