Again this is posturing from Melo's camp (Broussard is connected to Leon Rose/Melo's agent) to put the pressure on New York to make the deal the Nuggets want.

With that being said there is no doubt in my mind that if a deal were to take place involving Melo, Morey would almost certainly have to get a quality big back for the Rockets to make a serious playoff run THIS SEASON.

He knows the only way to keep Melo in Houston would be if they could truely make the playoffs.

Wouldnt be a big shock if Morey had proposed a three team trade involving Camby coming back to Houston along with Melo.

I think AB/JJ for Camby works pretty good. Gives them their PGuard, hometown boy and saves them some cash right away.

Camby is Deke version 2.0 ;)

Why? We have our Scorer that doesn't play defense already (Martin). We don't need two of them. We need an impact go to closer/scorer and Brooks isn't it.

He's never said that a trade will happen. All he's said is basically what teams are interested in what team's player. Chris Broussard was the one who had sources tell him that Lebron would choose Miami on the day of 'The Decision'.

I completely trust Chris Broussard. He's not saying it's a done deal. He's saying that it's a proposed trade. Nothing more.

I dont think they've fogotten yet how Brooks schooled them 2 years ago in the playoffs :p

Besides, whether for the Rockets or other team, I hope Brooks does well. I have no doubt he will return to his old self, but if we are to score Melo + Camby in any trade involving Brooks, I'm still happy for all parties involved.

    Not a big Camby fan.

Is Camby worth taking on $2.85mil ($5.7mil after tax) in salary?
    I don't think so.

    Camby=win now.

Morey has stated multiple times that he isn't interested in making a move for a player that cant be considered into the Rockets long term plans. Meaning no Melo, no Camby.

Melo puts them in a position to win now with the right pieces surrounding him. Camby bandages the only weak spot on the roster to make a run at the playoffs THIS SEASON.

True. But we would have to trust Morey to ensure the deal isn't lopsided in their favor.

Brooks would do cartwheels if he wound up so close to home.

He's the best defensive Center in the NBA second to Dwight Howard. I'd say he's worth it.

If Morey/Les/Adelman want to win RIGHT NOW and convince Melo to stay...YES, yes it is. That team could challenge most everyone in the West in a 7 game series.

If it's just Camby by himself, I'd say no but others might disagree.

The only thing reported that the Rockets are offering is financial relief. Which means, the only players you'd see in a Carmelo deal would be Yao, Jeffries, or Battier.

Its important to know that when Broussard releases trade rumors he has a purpose for doing so. They aren't always grounded in real possibilities but they are a way for Leon Rose to issue media releases that benefit his clients during trade talks.

Are the trades mentioned discussed between teams?? Sure, but all teams talk to all other teams about many different possibilites.

Again this is posturing by Melo's Camp (Broussard)

Camby does nothing to effect long term success negatively for the Rockets organization, he is an expiring deal that Rox could simply let expire if they choose or resign at minimal cost. Morey has said he looks at long term and MIDDLE term deals and this one falls under middle term.

Melo has been on Morey's radar since the summer, he wants him and will make every effort to trade for him.

True ... I used to feel like I didn't want to trade for melo cause we'd loose a bunch of our guys. But, at this point it's pretty clear that we're not just in some slump, rather we're in the lower third of the league.

    I say GO FOR IT!
