    Not when HOUSES are just part of your investment portfolio, which you don't actively manage since you got a full time job requires your attention 24/7. Houses to him is no different than the few stocks you own in GE.

    John McCain looks like a guy that is 1/2 a step away from senility. There is no way in the world I would vote for a guy that can't tell me how many houses he owns, or even understands his own finances.

    McCain = sacrificial lamb.

    Actually other people who are attempting to defend this fool are using arguments that counter yours: (From DC Kid)


    So 2 of the residences he lives in primarily. 1 is for his daughter. 1 is a vacation home. 1 is his work home. 1 is for his elderly aunt. Despite the fact real estate is an investment, those aren't exactly the same as stocks...

    TWO are for investment purposes.

    ...just like the average American. It makes perfect sense why blue collar American's identify more with McCain. I mean, who doesn't earn at least 5 mil a year, right?

    He doesn't know how many house he own

    He thinks America is strong economically

    He doesn't know how to use a computer

    He doesn’t know anything about the economy

    The knock on him isn't that he owns multiple houses, and not knowing how many he owns is only symptom of what people are getting at with this gaff by McCain.

    What they are going at this is using this to show that McCain is out of touch with the average voter, and what's going on in the nation. Him not knowing that he owns all these houses or how many, while talking about the economy being strong, and the gaffs that Phil Gramm made when he was on McCain's staff only feed into that.
