Ok, I've rethought this, Aaron certainly deserves a last chance for when the team/chemistry is in good shape.
I haven't said anything about Aaron or Kyle... I just think the black-or-white threads, with new conclusions after every loss, are a bit old. I'm also not on either's "team." Your original post concludes that Lowry can't go against starters, presumably because he's played poorly. But look at what he did to start the year off the bench. He was terrible. So are his struggles more as a result of facing starters, or is something just wrong in general with Kyle this year? Compare his numbers so far this year to last year... or any year. Not even close... he's not even hitting free throws this season. I'm not drawing any conclusions on Kyle right now from this early stretch other than he may not be right physically at the moment.
More like Brooks was already the starter and the coach isn't smart enough to adjust his lineup when they acquired Martin. So yes, he's a bad coach. Is this news to anyone?
I'm feeling them... But they aren't excuses, they are well structured arguments, that have been proven to be correct... I would like to apologize for doubting your abilities Kyle. You are truly a starter in this league. Not since Yao has a Rocket been ranked in the top 15 in fantasy basketball for over a month... Stud...
Brooks?? Really? thats the answer to our problems? no, lowery is better than brooks as a pg. But with Yao out for good, brooks would be the better option since he is the better scorer TRADE BROOKS, GET A BIG! SHUT UP( to people all on brooks stuff)
Stopped reading after the bolded. jameer nelson, dj augustine, and mo williams would like to have a word with you.
after the emergence of kyle lowry, it will be interesting to see if aaron brooks can elevate his game to make a run at his old job. kyle's certainly a more traditional point guard (compare their assists, turnovers, steals) and now that he can stretch the floor with his 3 (shooting 39.7%) he's a viable option for us going down the road. It looks to me that brooks will be the 6th man for a while. Maybe he'll shine there (i know a lot of you think he belonged there last year).
I think Brooks will just need time to get back to top form, but it is obvious that OMR was premature and completely wrong with his assessment of Lowry. Actually, very promising to think that you can add Aaron Brooks in good shape to an existing and well-functioning guard lineup of Lowry, Martin, Lee. With those four, I think we have a pretty strong and deep guard lineup. Speed, 3-point shooting, defense (from Lowry and Lee), all covered.
Talking about being a smart and rich guy. Did you ever realize that we wouldn't have been down 4 pts if Brooks didn't play?
The offense tonight got real stale with brooks in by himself in the 4th. Almost blew the game for us with his non stop dribbling other than that 3 he was a liability out on the court. As soon as lowry came back in we had a 10 point lead agin within 2 min. If this game doesn't show that lowry is the better player than I don't know what its gonna take to show u guys that brooks is clearly not the better for out starting unit. Lowry just gets everybody going and keeps the other team on its heels imo with brooks in the game the offense is more predictable.
Those are the types of shots that when you miss them they are bad shots, I am glad Brooks seems to make them most often than not, he delivers one of those daily and it really pulls a little momentum in our favor.
Bottom line. With Brooks in, offense gets worse (so far), defense gets worse (not going to change) Brooks should be 6th man.
