I'm pretty sure that anyone blaming Luther Head for the Rockets playoff loss didn't watch much of the games, furthermore how can you blame Rockets staff for dumping a huge conract(Mike James) and signing a veteran pg, that was 6th man of the year under Coach A. and playing him over a rookie. Looking at stats though, there is no way you can say Brooks is better than Head, even Head's rookie season was better than Brooks, not by much and i would hope that, with the regular playing time that Head has had he would have improved at least a little in 3 season but he hasn't, actually he has gotten worse. If you go by more than just stats, in games that Brooks had quality playing time and not just garbage time he did extreamly well and did contribute in at least one game this season by LEADING the team to a victory. Brooks will be a better player in the NBA just because he has a better skill set than Head. But as of Last season Head is the better player.

Right now, Head is better, which is why he gets a lot more playing time. If I had to choose to keep one, I'd keep Brooks, though, for his potential.

Supposedly the Rockets see Brooks as their 2nd PG this year. I hope he makes it.

I agree that comparing Brooks and Head is pretty meaningless since they play different positions. I was discussing this was another member and wanted to see how others felt about it. Pretty selfish reason for creating a thread. The truth is though that if Head can't play PG in the long run, he won't last in this league.

it's not a question of who is better,it's a question of who is worse. :D
bjax is bad ,brooks is worse, then luther is worst.
rockets are champions ,my friends ,and they will keep on fighting till the end ,they are the champions ,they are the champions ,no time for lutherbecause he is useless for the rockets,or even the world. ;)

I picked Brooks simply because he can run a ballclub and Head can't.

Head is a one dimensional 3 point shooter and that is his role. He needs other players to help him get open...um like that guy Yao Ming. The 2008 playoff run was going no where in 2008...well I guess there was a little hope that McGrady, Scola, and Landry could carry the Rockets over Utah, but that was about it.

On your weaknesses, you make a nice long list for Luther. Luther has one weakness...he's a short three point specialist that is forced to play SG. This weakess manifests itself when he is forced into the point...anytime he is well covered because the stars of the team can't take Fisher off the dribble one on one or are riding the pine due to injury.

Luther's weakness is the same as Brooks'. They are both short for the position that they play!

Brooks' best ability right now is just sheer speed to create something for himself. Brooks has less shown of an ability to get his 3pt shot of in the NBA than Head.

Picking between them, I'll say Brooks is more important because he is a PG and that is just a more valuable position.

We will usually be hard to choose.
But this time it is so easy.
    Brooks, now.
Maybe it is hard to choose last year.

Since Head isn't a point guard and Brooks most definitely has potential, (he wouldnt be in the NBA with that body if he didnt), Personally I think your wrong.
But he, or she, just made this thread to see Brooks get some praise while everyone is raggin on luther.

Actually, you are wrong. The main point was just to rag on Luther. :)

At this point in time Brooks really is just a 3rd string PG at NBA level. he's got a ways to go on his game. With that being said, that's way more valuable than Luther Head. Luther is just dead weight that the team has carried for 3 years.

The comparison of Brooks and Head is very easy.

    Outdoors you urinate in Brooks.

Indoors you urinate in the Head.

Brooks is better by a long shot. Being 1 year in the league that had no significant injuries at his position during his rookie season had less oppurtunity to show case he tallent unlike Head when we went to the lottery.

Brooks needs to see more minutes to develope quicker while Head developed to his max potential for a tweener.

For that Rumor it could indeed be true because we were at one time or Morey was after Foster last season.

At what point does the total number of votes become significant?

I would say the fans have spoken.

Conclusion: According to fans, Brooks is more valuable to the Rockets than Head.

Lets sell him for Euros! more Salary cap and no more Luther Head since the 3 point line is shorter in Europe Luther can evolve into a V span of his own but can play offense instead of defense. One on One Head and Brooks, my votes on Brooks because of his speed he could tire out Luther quicker and being a NCAA 3pt champ helps.

That is a very good argument.

However, this is a fan forum and the poll was for fans. It wasn't a coaches' poll.
