no i agree with you tbar...the irrationality of wanting every young player to play is ludicrous...but someone will be moaning and groaning about carl landry not "being developed" at some point next year
If Landry hasn't signed, maybe Europe is in store for him. There is always the NBDL for Landry if he has signed. The NBDL isn't a good solution for development, but it is probably better than riding the pine in the NBA. With the hectic NBA schedules, I doubt there is much time to nurse a developing player. Hopefully, Europe is still an option because neither US option is good for a player like Landry unless he stuns us all and gains PT.
I'm sure that Rafer will be a goner but we all know how Morey is, he is going to make sure he gets all he can for Rafer. And looking at the FA list I'm sure that there is some team out there that is willing to over pay for Rafer Alston so I would definetly not expect him to be on the Rox roster come October 2007.
Who said Novak deserved minutes? Scola (hopefully he translates okay to the NBA and doesn't completely suck) and Hayes should get most of the important PF pt minutes. Battier, Reed, and Butler play emergency minutes at the 4. If Landry is on the roster, it is most likely not the active roster. Let Landry get PT to develop, but not on the Rockets. The caveat being if there is an injury and the rockets just need a warm body.
