orlando back in 93 was the team that only had 1 ping pong ball and won the #1 pick again since then they went to the random number system which would give teams with a better record a much harder chance to win the lottery.

Orlando once went from worst lottery position to getting the number 1 pick (which they traded Golden State in the Webber/Penny deal) but that was before they re-weighted the odds and started picking four digit numbers instead of single lottery balls (supposedly this smooths out the probabilities).

As far as I remember, ever since the change, no team from our position has ever landed a top 3 pick. We only have a 1.8% chance of moving up.

If the appearance of some sort of a Maryland Point Guard is needed, AB can always bring the testicles of Steve Blake that he keeps in a jar.

    haha harsh.

Dude, if you don't land in your slot... that means the lowest pick you can have is #3 overall.

Come on man, thats NBA Draft 101.

Remember what Francis said right after the Rockets won the lottery? LOL. I wonder if Brooks would say the same thing if we won it.

He may get too excited if we land a top 3 pick, jump half an inch off the ground and shatter both of his feet into millions of pieces.

Pffft, Yao is soft and meek... he's never gotten excited once in his life.

    What a wuss.

i guess the one great thing about being #14 is that we'll know right away if we landed a top 3 pick

So this mean that we're going to trade away Brooks after a year or two for a lackadaisical injury-prone All-star?
