I am going to stop...but before I leave this thread. I still respect your posts and everybody who else posted in this thread. In the end, most of us just want the Rockets to get better, "in different ways" cheers "Back to work"
Yeah, but this thread has weaved far away from that, don't try to say you are only following the op, when you are saying "Realistically" and "Brooks will go for Melo" LOL.... Anyway, I agree, anyone could be traded to make the team better. Like trading Yao for Brook Lopez.......for instance......for another thread though. DD
100% talking out my ass? The fact of the matter is Morey acted by resigning Lowry with the nice contract. Morey is keeping Lowry, even though some would say we are overpaying. This is talking out your ass Why don't you cut down on your hypocritical statements and what not and use facts? I have facts that justify the theory that Brooks would be traded ahead of Lowry. You on the other hand would ignore anything that completely voids your points.
You have no facts, you have nothing other than a theory.... The Melo wants to play with Brooks came from a Yahoo report from the Melo camp. Signing an asset doesn't mean that you are going to keep him, how is Trevor Ariza doing these days? What about Carl Landry? Unfortunatly, I don't ignore enough. DD
I don't see that happening where Lowry gets less than 20 minutes. Right now Brooks is our most valuable trade piece and Lowry is a capable back up. Personally, I think we have one of the deepest backcourts in the league and like the group we have now (or at least to the midseason trade).
I agree completely, and the crux of my entire points regarding this is that Yao is back, and making a trade now would be doing one on incomplete information. You need to find out WHO fits with Yao...before making a large move. DD
Link? I just told you the fact of the matter is Morey acted by resigning Lowry. We signed Ariza, but he was a failed experiment. Carl Landry was on the tail end of his contract, keeping him would be too expensive (I don't even know how Landry is relevant to this, we didn't sign him and trade him in a year). You don't sign Lowry with that type of contract intending for him to be a trade bait, and that's all people (including me) mean by Brooks being ahead of Lowry on the trading block. Of course Lowry is tradable, but Brooks is ahead.
The point was that Morey will trade ANYONE no matter when they were signed or for how much. So, you can not read anything into him signing Lowry other than keeping a quality asset. Landry matters because he was traded a year and 1/2 into his contract after Morey talked about how good he was and important etc. (sound familiar?) Yes, you do. You sign him for market price, and then if you are trying to upgrade the team you need contracts that match dollar wise to make a trade. Arguably Kyle's contract makes him easier to trade because most quality players make more $$$, and you need to match salaries to consumate a trade. Of course for the next year Kyle has to approve the trade, but if he is going somewhere he gets to start, of course he would agree....he fricken signed an offer sheet with CLEVELAND for crying out loud.... There is nothing anyone can read into Morey signing Lowry, the same with Scola, Yao, Brooks, anyone....Morey would trade anyone if it made the team better. DD
If Morey overpaid, which you've argued many times, then his value in a trade is limited. You need contracts that match dollar wise, but all that means is you will end up with someone similarly overpaid. Any other "logic" is not actually logic at all. And if you think Morey signed Ariza with the idea he'd trade him a year later....
This is interesting. I am just posting this for informational purposes. "here are the top ten least productive players (minimum 2,000 minutes played) on winning teams in 2009-10: Derek Fisher, LA Lakers: -0.2 Wins Produced Rashard Lewis, Orlando Magic: 0.1 Wins Produced Jeff Green, Oklahoma City Thunder: 1.o Wins Produced Boris Diaw, Charlotte Bobcats: 1.1 Wins Produced Channing Frye, Phoenix Suns: 1.3 Wins Produced Mehmet Okur, Utah Jazz: 2.0 Wins Produced Michael Beasley, Miami Heat: 2.2 Wins Produced Aaron Brooks, Houston Rockets: 2.5 Wins Produced Martell Webster, Portland Trail Blazers: 2.7 Wins Produced J.R. Smith, Denver Nuggets: 2.8 Wins Produced" http://dberri.wordpress.com/2010/08/13/underrated-statistics-and-underrated-players/
Do you think Jeffries is overpaid? Lots of players get bigger contracts because teams overpay to try to stop teams from matching. I do think Lowry is overpaid for his skillset, but good for him. Doesn't mean the Rockets won't trade him if the other team wants him, or they need his contract amount to make the trade work. I think Morey knew that signing him to that contract would allow him to move him if he needed too.....a contract that size is not hard to move, same as Lowry's. DD
Yes you are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol. Look whatever.....The market set the price, and Morey had to match.....I think he got burned this year by a buyers market...... DD
