Dakota, how about we make a little friendly wager? If Brooks is traded, you go on a diet and drop 100 lbs. If Brooks is not traded this season, then I will eat more and gain 20 lbs. LOL.
Taht doesn't mean much, if at all. It applies to Lowry as well. As long as a team is loaded, any decent PG can start and win. Ariza has been a starter on a championship team already. Even Rafer Alston has been a starting PG on a finals team. And about all-star potential thing: 1st, it means unlike you, Morey doesn't think AB is on all star level yer. 2nd, what else can Moery say? No sane GM will say a starter on his team doesn't have potential to be an all-star, let alone a smart GM like Morey.
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't DM also say that Landry would be a Rocket for a long time? DM says at lot of things, but as the old saying says, "Action speaks louder than words."
I think that DM may say things as he sees them at that point. However, when other people's actions make him feel contrary to previously made statements that changes things. And so it goes, Landry was shipped out after making some bonehead contractual demands.
Look at all you guys scrambling around like cockroaches when the light has been turned on.... ROFLMAO ! "But, but...Mr. Morey really meant...but..but.... Come on..... DD
Not really. I don't gain weight easily, and the thought of stuffing myself with donuts doesn't exactly thrill me...
Daryl Morey the GM said those things about Brooks, things that folks on here have been saying he could never be... 1. An all star 2. A starting PG on a championship team. It makes them look like very silly... DD
He was, the ant pile is scrambling now that the knowledge has stepped it's big hobbit sized foot right in the middle of their weakly built structure. DD
I don't know if Landry trade has anything to do with contractual demands. It seems Landry and Scola is somewhat redundent, and Rockets is think at SG since Tmac will be gone. So a Landry for Martin trade is good for the team. Come to AB's situation, there is no difference. AB is a nice player to have, but if there is a trade than can make Rockets better and it requires AB to get it done, Morey will do it.
what a coincidence! it turns out that you also have the potential to be an all-star and a starting pg on a championship team. doesnt mean it'll happen.
Dakota, what is silly is taking Daryl Morey the GM words at face value.... Let's look at his ACTIONS, shall we? Did Morey talk up Landry yet trade him to Sacramento? YES. Did Morey talk up Brooks yet sign Lowry to a huge contract AND another PG? YES. According to the ACTIONS, Morey is preparing to trade Brooks because he is not going to pay Brooks after this season. No way he pays Brooks who is only one dimensional player who can't pass, can't defend, and only score. Lowry on the other hand can defend, pass the ball, AND attack the rim and get free throws. That is a much more versatile PG than a shoot first undersized SG which Brooks is. You guys are vastly overrating Brooks, and being "silly" by taking Morey's words at face value....
1.Realisitic posters are saying: AB is not an all-star YET. Morey seems to agree. You have said many times that AB IS an all-star. Morey doesn't agree from what he said. Is it clear? 2. Any decent PG can win championship on a really talented team. See Steve Kerr, BJ Armstrong, Derik Fisher etc, but not many PGs can elevate a good but not top talent level team to Championship contender level like Nash or prime Kidd etc. AB belongs to the first group, is it clear? 3. If AB can be a starter on a championship team, so does Lowry.
"Trevor is a young, athletic wing player who will thrive in Rick Adelman's system," said Rockets general manager Daryl Morey . "Each year in the league Trevor has improved. What he has accomplished at a young age is already impressive and we expect his improvement to continue."
This is fairly hypocritical of you as you once made a thread of how Morey tends to say one thing and do another. So now all of a sudden Morey says something good about your favorite player, he is no longer deflecting? Seriously man, what do you expect him to say? "Oh Aaron Brooks certainly scores well, I just wish he could do other things better!" Every GM is going to compliment his players in public.
