While I agree that we may have won a few more games without them, I think we keep playing them, at least till the trade deadline. Here is why: 1) While these 3 are surely responsible for a few/several of our loses, the addl wins wouldnt have made too much difference in terms of the playoff picture. 2) Non of these guys are likely to get better and improve their game sitting on the bench. If any of them is to regain their form or acquire it in the first place, they need to play. 3) It doesnt make sense right now to play our perceived keepers (Pat, Twill, Lee) more than necessary if we are to give other teams any incentive at all to want the other three. Keeping Bud, Hill and AB in the rotation keeps hope alive that they may find their game in the coming weeks and bolster their value. 4) No combination of the the players we have has any reasonable chance to go far in the playoffs, even if we manage to get there. So why not put the guys out there we are not sure about to see who floats and who sinks. That will make decision making over the summer much easier. 5) A better pick in the draft certainly wont hurt us
The conditions were perfect for Brooks to have a big year last year: A scoring void left by Yao; a young, explosive, offensive player who was ready to step up and fill it. The questions after last year were, is Brooks the real deal, on the cusp of stardom, or was a lot of his success because of the conditions, and has he more or less topped out? If so, should the team sell high? Given his age, it was reasonable for the coaching staff to think there's a good chance he was the real deal and that he'd continue to play at a high level/improve. We've seen now that may or may not be the case. Some might argue he's just hitting a lull and that eventually he'll step up and be a consistently great player. I think he'll probably be a good offensive player in the league for quite a while, but it's doubtful he'll have many seasons that surpass last year. He'll always be somewhat of a defensive liability, and with the team's current makeup, we probably don't need an undersized purely offensive player at that position. Maybe the team should still capitalize on his value/potential and trade him now, especially with his contract situation. I'm guessing management is thinking this way, too.
Hill is just... dumb. He has little to no BBIQ. Brooks plays like he wants to lose, and Budinger, well he's struggled most of the season but he's improved lately. I'm not sure why Adelman keeps giving them so many minutes when Patterson and Ish play with more heart and intensity.
darn, i had my hopes up too high. on reading the thread title i thought they had been packaged away for a superstar.
It's pretty clear that Brooks feels he must score points in these remaining games or he is going to lose out on millions of dollars. Winning the game is secondary to him at this point.
True. I agree with you 110%. Though out of the four mentioned here I think MIller is the least likely to get traded. Aldeman values him too much to trade him and everyone else sees no value to trade for him.
He already averages close to 20. I dont think any other non- contending roster in the NBA can facilitate him for 25-30 MPG? Not even the Kings and Raptors. He would be lucky to see grabage time for any top 16 teams.

You can add JJ, picks, TE(ariza's) plus Brooks, Hill and Budinger. I believe this can get you something very good in return.
Aaron Brooks has sulked his way into a shooting slump! Jordan Hill doesn't have it, and needs to be dealt, Budinger is WAY OVERRATED ON THIS BOARD! He has his moments on the offensive end of the floor. But he's a NBA reserve because he doesn't WANT to play defense. END OF STORY!
this is the most logical conclusion to me. if twill, ish, and patterson are here after the deadline and still not getting big minutes, i will be surprised. haven't seen enough of ish to say, but williams and patterson play well on both sides of the ball, which is exactly what we want going forward (this is also the reason i think we will continue to develop Lee). it makes it tough to watch games though - playing the same players and getting the same results over and over. just tough it out for a few more weeks and let's quit saying "we can't afford to wait until..." - i think we all know we are easing into the front end of a long rebuilding process. time is the one thing we got lots of.
I'd package all three (brooks, bud, hill) for an impact player. Of all the players on our roster, these 3 are the ones i'd like to move most. Between Hill, Brooks, and Bud; Battier and Jeffries' contracts; and our draft picks, you'd think we could aquire a major piece. I know it takes two to make a deal happen, but i would be surprised if Morey couldn't improve the team with those assets.
