Brooks, Landry for Charlie V. and R. Sessions and the Pick.

    I like that trade

I think that Brooks is a good player, but the general profile for the more successful point guards in the league include SIZE. Given that this draft class has at least 5 big point guards and that more are sure to come, Brooks won't be able to last long in the league given that there is a strong trend towards bigger point guards. He is too small and will get pushed around too much within the next couple of years. The Rockets should do whatever it takes to capitalize on the strength of the PG's in this draft class and grab a lottery pick.

So the recurring theme here is that nobody wants to giv eup these guys for an unproven player? And I wasn't suggesting that both should be traded for a lottery pick. The posts I kept seeing were the ones that said we shouldn't give either of them up for a top 10 (or higher) pick. That seems crazy to me. We are talking about players that just two years ago were themselves in the draft and were a fringe first round and a second round player. You are playing not lose instead of playing to win.

But since you mentioned not wanting to give up both of them for an unproven player, what about something along the lines of giving up Landry to acquire the #8 pick (as an example)? Then we are able to package Brooks with the player we take at #8 for a "proven player."

Those are the types of moves you need to think about when you say we shouldn't trade those guys. I guarantee you that is the way Morey is thinking as he works the phones.

I personally think we should keep them both. But that's just me. Don't think anyone on the team except for Yao (per Les) is untouchable. However, if AB and CL are to be traded, I would expect the Rockets would get someone their value. Hopefully an established player(s) that will make the difference in the post season.

The current line up now is still fairly new in terms them playing together. The short time that we had the current roster, we made it to the second round. I personally would like to the see how far our current lineup, along with a healthy Yao and T-Mac, can go next season, but anything can happen at this point... Anything...

Sessions is way better than Brooks and Charlie V. is at least equally as good as Landry. Why would Milwaukee make this trade even without the pick???

I think Morey will pack Brooks and Landry only if the return is an elite player who can help this team instantly. Throw in contracts of Cook/Barry/Hayes, maybe we can score Rip or Butler.

Great trade. Talent wise, The team would get players that can match or surpass the playing level of Brooks and Landry. The pick would be gravy. Good trade.

Also, it will take a long time for a rookie to contribute on Offense/Defense. By the time they develop Yao is history and we are a lottery team unless we get Dwayne Wade or Lebron James

Detroit has got to rebuild, so they should be all over a McGrady for Rip and Tayshaun deal. However, they would probably like to have an extra pick to go with it. If it took giving up Landry to get them that pick, I think you have to consider it.

Rip and Prince would so far be the best package for Tmac. Two players that are proven and can contribute right away. The pick for Landry would be steep. Maybe, Lowry or Hayes for the pick would do.

Why do people continue to say there is no way to trade crap for star players.

Yet every other quality team and GM are doing EXACTLY that.

San Antonio just did it today.

You don't weaken one area of the team to incrementally improve another.

    Tmac's contract has value...use it.

Rockets fans are so bad at devising trades. lol
Wolves would hang up the phone immediately without saying a word after listening to the offer.

Agreed. I think Landry is close to reaching his full potential while Brooks may have just scratched the surface. If one has to go I say Landry is the one.

Yeah the Wolves would hang up the phone since none of those players even play for Minnesota.

I agree, but it leaves a hole at backup PF.....TMac is completely dispensible.....we need to use him to get something...

I can not believe the Spurs got a quality wing for garbage...unreal.

Brooks improved because he became the starter and got more PT. Landry would also benefit if he had more playing time too. Landry still could get better on defense and he could also get better on offense, which is his strong point too. You can't say Landry has hit his ceiling when he really never had a chance like Brooks to start. I think Brooks has hit his ceiling to be honest and I wouldn't mind seeing him go.

Nope. First they'd say, "Those players aren't even on our team, you moron!"

    Then, they'd hang up. :D

I agree, I have wanted Jefferson all season long and I know we could have put together a package better then what the Spurs offered. What the F is Morey doing, playing golf?! These deals can be had. Rip, Nash, old and tested players that are on down and out teams can be had this offseason. Get it done Morey for god sake the Spurs just raped the Bucks!
