The Brooklyn Nets have offered the job of general manager to San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Sean Marks, league sources tell @TheVertical.

Tough job to have until 2020 when they finally own their draft pick.

If I'm Marks, they better be giving me a nice pay increase. Otherwise he's got a pretty good gig going with the Spurs.

I think he'll take it. His job security will be high, because it is clear that any process there will take a lot of time (years). Secondly, the worse the situation, the bigger hero you can become.

The next big question is, who will the head coach be? If he'd go along the Spurs blue prints concerning the roster and with a coach who represent Popovich style philosophy, we may be looking at a totally different Nets team in a couple of years.

Yeah, because people usually spend 3 weeks interviewing for a job they don't want...

Sean Marks a former NBA scrub of scrubs. I am pretty sure he makes more money doing this than he did in the NBA?

NBA "scrubs" seem to make good coaches. Maybe that can translate to GMs...

LOL...check out his yearly salaries...minimum wage his entire career.

I wonder if that is some kind of record. 12 years in the NBA ... all at the vet minimum. Good enough to find a team each year, but not good enough to get paid above min.

This is ridiculous and incredibly funny. So he spent about a month interviewing for the job against other candidates and then leaning towards turning it down

Well, if we turn this into linguistics, he hasn't turned it down either. Meanwhile he is only leaning according to Mitch Lawrence.
