yep, and my guess is Ime and Co. would love to have a shot at training talents from year one..already have two, but he would want talents they scouted themselves[his team]...

while still of course training/figuring out our current young guns[4 of them]

Maybe or maybe they can package those with some of our prospects for upgrades.

It's always nice to have options.

The Nets should be 15-21 after tonight (they play the Thunder).

Phoenix is 18-16. Durant isn't getting younger and they've got no way to improve roster except minimum deals for the next few years. I'm expecting Phoenix is going to crash hard before their obligations to Brooklyn are up.

Also, those Brooklyn picks look kind of sweet. Outside OKC, Utah, and the really bad teams this year, I'd guess they probably have the sweetest draft capital.

People are forgetting the Nets have lots of capspace in 2025 (and onward if they want to roll it over) with Simmons contract off the books, and everything is pointing Donovan Mitchell to be ditching Cleveland after next year. A team without their own draft picks can change course quickly once they spend. The Nets may not be contending by 2028, but in the crappy East they can maintain a play-in quality status for a while. This and next year are the big ones in terms of upside on the pick.

The Nets pick currently has a 14% chance of being top 4. That’s not nothing ;)

Wish we had their pick next year.

Would love to get in on the Cooper Flagg lottery.

We own their asses for the next 4 years. Only swaps in 25 and 27 though.

    Question...

So if we get theirs this year we can still swap next year? I thought you could not send out two 1st rd picks in consecutive seasons.

    Good to know.

Yes, we get to swap with them next year even though we get their pick outright this year. Swaps are the way to get around the consecutive years picks issue.
