Man I would love Lopez. I would give up Hill and Scola for him. Yeah it leaves us thin at the 4 but Hayes can be our primary backup and we sign the best free agent big that we can in the off season. Landry would definitely be an option.

    PG - A. Brooks/ K. Lowry/ I. Smith
    SG - K. Martin / C. Lee/
    SF - T. Williams/ C. Budinger
    PF - Patterson/ Landry/ C. Hayes
    C - Yao/Lopez/ B. Miller/

    1st round draft pick

Pretty sure if Yao comes back there is no way he would start over Brook.

I am one of the Brook Lopez doubters. I say that Brook has the skill, but, until this day he has shown to be softy center with rebounding problems. Having said that, I would love to have him. I think that him and Pat could be the FUTURE, because I think Paterson does the dirty job that Brook hates/and is bad at.

For those people that are saying that they would probably fire Avery before brook, I think people are underrating the fact that the Nets were going to make a HARD run at Scola this past offseason. I think they really wanted him, that is one of the reasons why Morey came in and saved the day, the Nets were going to put serious money on the table.

I just hope people now understand how Avery is, and stop saying, "why did t.will not play with Avery on a crappy team"....

Definitely stepping out on a ledge here ... PP has been showing promise, but you're right, we'd be throwing in the towel for this season doing that.

An added bonus of trading for Brook Lopez (as opposed to one dimensional centers like DeAndre Jordan) is he could also play the 4 next to Yao if he returns at full strength -- God willing.

What's wrong with starting T-Will and Patterson? Do you want to keep Scola and Battier (both 30+) instead of adding a young all-star center?

Dude, this trade would be a no-brainer!

What are you thinking give them anything but Scola. Hill + JJ or Bud.

    I'd rather have Nene.

To be honest if the Piston, Nuggets and Nets trade goes down and Nene goes to the Nets I'm sure Lopez is not going to be traded. Nene is probably going to play the PF and Lopez starts at C. Besides that, yeah I'll do the trade in a heartbeat. If Lopez doesn't get traded a trade for Kris Humphries will be solid as well. Humphries is a very good rebounder and probably is the reason Lopez has these bad rebounding numbers at the moment.

Not sure how you guys figure that. Patterson is already a better defender & rebounder than Scola. Brook Lopez would replace Scola's scoring and add rim protection on defense. Twill is a better ball-handler, slasher, passer and way more athletic defender than Battier. Courtney Lee is also better than Battier on the ball defense at this point. I don't believe the drop off is that major.

I'd also like to see us sign Stanley Robinson a 6-9 lock down, athletic defender and groom him as a backup. Battier's job here is just about done. Show Twill and C. Lee how you do it...then go win w/ a veteran team.

Me too, an extremely smart guy who can play center and at the high post.

If Avery is dumb enough to trade him, he is a fool.....Avery is trying to be like Popovich, but is being a bit too hard....Pop is great in that he knows when to hit with the stick and when to give them a carrot.

Avery is all stick stick stick, it seems.

The comrade would fire Avery and coach the team himself rather than allowing that trade to happen.

I think the Nuggets would break down that deal in a second.

If they are giving up Carmelo, THEY are going to get Brook Lopez.

    End of story.

We might be able to work it out to get Favors though.

I think Melo & the comrade would rather go to war with warriors like Scola and Nene over perceived soft players like Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries. W/ all of our exceptions & expirings we can make the money work.

If the Nets trade everyone player who has cursed at Avery Johnson, they might as well get out of the basketball business cuze they'll have no one left on the roster.

Favors or Lopez would work equally as well for us. Denver can't have it all/both. They want 5 draft picks, favors etc.

I think the most telling thing was what Avery thinks of Brook, not what Brook thinks of Avery.
