Houston is 3 and 0 and has outscored Dallas by 24 points. What series are you watching?

Won by 2. On their home-court. Be a little more negative please.

    Thanks for the jinx.

Don't think the Mavs have enough to win 3 more games, but the Rockets are flawed themselves.

The Rockets were not jinxed into giving such little effort on the defensive end. They just chose not to.

Kind of glad we lost. The players' ego was getting inflated, the team needed to know you can lose to anyone in the playoffs if you don't bring it on both sides of the court every game.

Let's finish this series off and get a couple of good defensive practices in while the Clippers and Spurs battle.

The Mavs might not be a very good team compared to other Western playoff teams, but they are a very good offensive team, especially now that they are freed of Rondo and his no-shooting ill-fitting ass and are basically back to how they played at the start of the season.

They have multiple guys who can penetrate the paint off the dribble, great floor spacing, the versatility of Dirk, and Tyson Chandler to rebound and finish around the paint. Even a good defensive team like the Rockets can have problems with them if the effort and focus isn't there 100%.

The Mavs on offense causes similar headaches to those caused by Portland last April-- no surprise since Terry Stotts was a top assistant to Carlisle and the roster construction are similar. Both teams can space the floor and attack the paint with dribble penetration.

The Rockets can get good shots against these guys-- they fell behind big by missing a bunch of open shots-- much like they could score on Portland last year very well. But the Mavs can score with the Rockets.

We can't forget that this Mavs' team (except an even worse version of them) took the Spurs to seven games in the first round last year... The same Spurs who went on to dominate the rest of the playoffs.

I mean we should still easily handle the Mavs, but there's no shame in dropping one or having a hard fought victory.

Good call by this dude... I really hope (and believe) that you're right that this was the Mavs' best effort, and that the Mavs will be a little softer tomorrow.

This I can mostly agree with. The Mavs are a potent offensive team for sure, and are served well by the Rondo "injury". But still, they lack depth and are just so ridiculously awful defensively that there is just no excuse for Houston to not take this series (in game 5, really).

Granted, our defense wasn't anything to write home about last couple games, too, which is part of why the Mavs are still around. But I expect a much better effort in game 5, especially being in Houston.
